Hello All!
I have a 90lb dog that has had Cushings for 2 years now and this message board has been a God send! I wanted to share something I've finally found to be helpful for his muscle wasting in his hind legs! I have tried so many things to help hopefully give him any strength back because his hind legs have been jello since his diagnosis. I got it off Amazon and gave it a try and have noticed wonderful results after 4 months now. ( MYOS Canine Muscle Formula )
Hope this helps others!

Hi Jenni! It’s so good to see you back here, and especially to read good news about Eli and also this new supplement you’ve found. You’ll see I’ve moved your new thread here to our “Everything Else” forum since this seems to be the best place to have general conversations about specific products or treatment advances.
I had not previously heard of MYOS Canine Muscle Formula myself, and I’m definitely interested in learning more and talking with my vet about the possibility of introducing it to my aging non-Cush Lab girl who is decidedly suffering from declining muscle strength in her rear end. We know she has advancing arthritis, so we’ve been giving her an NSAID to help with pain management. But loss of muscle mass isn’t helping, and so I’m very interested in possible benefits to a product like this.
I just did a bit of quick Googling, and found that this type of supplement (“Fortetropin”) has also been used in humans, and here’s a couple of articles I found re: use in dogs.

If I find more, I’ll add them, and please do so yourself if you have more info to share. Hind end muscle wasting is such a common issue for Cushpups that it would be great if this product turns out to be generally helpful — as well as for those of us with senior dogs.
So thanks very much for your post about this, and we’d also love to hear more about Eli, himself ;-). For any of our readers who want to read about Eli’s personal Cushing’s journey, here’s a link to his thread:

Once again, it’s so good to see you here and to know that Eli is doing well!

Thanks Marianne!
Let me know what your vet says! I experimented without my veterinarian's assistance because he previously said that Eli's muscle wasting wasn't from his Cushings and that there wasn't a remedy... so I took on my own research because I knew there had to be some sort of hope. It took about 2 months before I began seeing results) like most of the reviewers will mention but I am thrilled with his progress!
