What dietary changes should I be making for my Jack Russell? What homemade dog food recipes can you suggest?

Hi and welcome to you and your furbaby!
If you're talking about a diet for Cushing's, there really isn't a "set" diet for that, the diet should be tailored to that individual dog's needs. Now, having said that, it is recommended that a high quality protein, moderate fiber, and low fat feed be given to a dog with Cushing's. High quality protein is for the muscle-loss and if the dog has elevated triglycerides and/or cholesterol (which is common in cushdogs) a low fat diet may help with that.
We would really love to hear more about your furbaby and the more details the better! Has your dog been diagnosed with Cushing's? And if so, could you post all the test/s that were used to diagnose it with the results and include the units of measurements and reference ranges...thanks! How old is your furbaby and is s/he taking any other herbs/supplements/medications? The more information we know about your sweet furbaby the better our feedback can be.

Hello and welcome to the forum. Lori told you what the vets told us when we went through cushings which is the good quality protein and moderate fat. You want some fat, just not overly much.
How long have you been on the cushings journey?
