Before I start posing the numerous questions I have, I wanted to first introduce myself and my Bichon, NEO. I'm Vivian and I live in Atlanta. I find myself in a similar predicament as most others here. My Neo (12 yr. old Bichon and light of my life) was diagnosed with Cushings sometime in 2013. He exhibits many of the symptoms I've seen brought up here. Of course, he's taking the triostane (various doses over time), but my biggest concern is his severe weight loss. I'm going to be brief and will post further information on Neo's state in the appropriate subforums.
Just wanted to introduce myself and my Nee Nee.

Hi Vivian and welcome to you and Neo.
I have manually validated your membership so that others can now see your post. You can disregard the the email request from us to validate.
I am so sorry that your precious Neo's weight loss is causing you concern. Is he doing well otherwise? You mentioned that he is exhibiting a lot of the symptoms you have read about here. Did you mean he is currently exhibiting those symptoms or did he have them before treatment. If he is currently symptomatic, that is usually a sign that he may need an increase in dose. Can you tell us when the last acth stimulation test was done and can you share those results with us? Can you also tell how much he weighs and what dose of trilostane is he currently receiving, and whether it is once a day or twice a day?
I look forward to hearing a lot more about your precious Neo. The more information you can provide, the better equipped we'll be to provide you with meaningful feedback. Hang tight as I'm sure others will be by to welcome you and share their own thoughts.

Welcome to you and Neo! Glynda has gotten you started and covered the initial questions I have. Can you also tell us a bit more about Neo's weight loss. Is he just not interested in food or still interested but eating less? I am also dealing with weight loss with my 13 year old beagle -- she pretty much lost interest in food and lost 5 lbs. over a fairly short period of time. My vet started her on Mirtazapine which is an appetite stimulant. It perked up her appetite right away but, after a couple of weeks, she is back to not being very interested and has lost the lb. she gained. Abbie also has doggy dementia and sometimes seems to forget how to get to her bowl and what to do when she is there. What guidance has your vet given you with regard to the weight loss?
With regard to posting in "sub forums", our group does not have sub forums with regard to our Cushing's pups. All of your information about Neo should be posted in the same thread you started -- that way everyone will have all of his info in one place. We do have an excellent "Resources" forum and I recommend that you take a look when you get a chance.
Looking forward to learning more about Neo!

Hi and welcome to you and Neo. We all look forward to hearing more details about what is going on health wise with NEO.
In addition to the items mentioned by Glynda and Judy, what has Neo's regular bloodwork looked like? Anything that is high or low? If so can you post those results with the range?
