Hi All,

My baby, Roxy, has cushings and thyroid disease. She is a 13 year old Shih-tzu that has been the picture of health until about 4 months ago. I completely missed all the classic signs (increased urination and thirst) and thought it was just "old age". She was diagnosed in an emergency room while panting and trembling. We had an ultra sound performed to determine whether she had an adrenal tumor or a pituitary tumor. They ruled out the adrenal tumor and she is now taking Trilostane and thyroid medication. She seems to be improving, but this week has started showing a new symptom...intermittent but severe sneezing that will last for hours. I know this sounds strange, but it seems to be more noticeable on the right side of her face.. any thoughts would be helpful...

Did you change from Vetoryl to Trilostane or the compounding pharmacy that you use? Maybe it's an allergic reaction to one of the inert ingredients. What changed 4 months ago? Did the compounding pharmacy change fillers?

She was diagnosed with Cushings 4 months ago and has been on Trilostane since then. She has not changed medication. I also thought maybe an allergy, but nothing has changed in my house or her diet.

Thanks, Nicole

Welcome to the forum.
Do you know what her current cortisol levels are?

You mentioned the right side being more noticeable, does she turn right? or what do you mean exactly. Is she rubbing at her nose or face anything out of the normal?

How are her regular labs, blood work, anything out of range there and if so what?

The more we know about your little girls health, the better feed back we can provide.
