Hi. I haven't been here in awhile. This group was a tremendous help to me when my Brandy had Cushings many years ago. I now have a 9 yo male rescued boxer, Max. He possibly has Addison's - we still need to have ACTH test done to confirm. His resting cortisol was 1.1 while at the vet recently. His bloodwork also indicated pancreatitis, elevated magnesium and elevated SDMA test for early kidney disease. We were actually at the vet to have a couple of growths removed and he happened to have a belly ache that day, so she ran some bloodwork. I was hoping someone here could point me in the direction of an Addison's group? I found a couple on FB, but was hoping to find one like this group. Thanks in advance :)

Hi Brenna!
Good to hear from you again but sorry to hear you may now be dealing with Addison's with your new baby boy. One of our members has a cush pup that went Addison's and I will post a link to her thread for you along with a couple of links I found on Google. Tina isn't on much these days but she does check in so you could send her a PM and ask about groups she finds beneficial. Here is Tina and Jasper's thread - http://www.k9cushings.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4372
Now the other links -

Seems like there used to be several forums available for Addison's but they have apparently gone the FB way. :( But I hope this helps a little bit!
Hugs,
Leslie and the gang
PS drop in from time to time and let us know how Max is doing!

Hi Leslie! This helps a lot. Thank you so much for responding and for the info. I'll be sure to check it out! Luckily, Max hasn't hit a crisis yet. Hoping we can get a diagnosis and treatment plan in place ASAP. I'm trying to adjust his diet for the pancreatitis and early kidney disease also.
I've stopped by here several times over the past 5 years and will continue! I will send updates on my boy too :) Thank you again.

Hi Brenna!
Sorry to hear that Max is having issues :( Boy, my Harley had both pancreatitis and kidney problems and it is difficult finding a diet that can be given for both issues.
Please do keep us updated and wishing you the best.

Hi Lori,
Thanks. What did you feed Harley? I just recently switched Max to The Honest Kitchen (dehydrated). I wanted him off kibble anyway. I may choose to cook for him though. I'm really hoping the SDMA is elevated due to the Addison's. Once that is under control, we will recheck everything. So much going on with him :(

Since I felt a bit overwhelmed with all of Harley's issues I had Monica Segal formulate a diet for him, which the cooking was easier for me to do than to search for a particular dog food that would be suited for all of his health needs. :o
So sorry that Max is going through a rough time and will be keeping you both in my thoughts and prayers.
Hugs, Lori
