my 13 yr old yorkie girl has had cushings for about 9 months.she is being treated with 10mg Vetoryl.she has started to wee in her bed at night.and im wondering if this is the start of her body begining to close down
she had her right eye removed in march and her left eye is all red on the white part.it was Glaucoma in her right eye and the left is going the same way,she was suffering from high blood pressure which caused her retina to detach and the eye filled with blood then started to shrink, she was put on a painkiller because she had a headache all the time as she kept pressing her head againt the sofa
i dont want her left eye removed if she is comming to the end of her life
please help im seeing the vet again next week

Hi -- welcome to you and your sweet girl (Pippy?)! I am so sorry that Pippy is having such serious issues with her eyes. Is Pippy being followed by an opthamologist? If so, perhaps it would be best to have her seen by that vet to discuss options with her left eye. If you are putting drops in her eye to ward off glaucoma, it might be that there needs to be a medication adjustment.
With regard to the incontinence, this may be related to her age more than anything. There are several interventions available, including Pro-in and "Leaks No More". I used both with my last beagle and the "Leaks No More" worked great!
Are her Cushing's symptoms controlled? Are you having follow-up ACTH tests done to measure her cortisol levels?
Others will be along with their thoughts (and probably more questions ...). Hang in there and give your sweet pup a hug from us!

Welcome from me, too! I'm sorry she is having troubles with her eyes, and wetting the bed. My little guy wet his bed before we started treatment for Cushing's but once we started, that was no longer an issue. He is not currently taking Trilostane due to other issues, so he has had a wet bed in the morning sometimes too (we get up during the night to try to prevent that for now). I wonder if your girl might need more Vetoryl... when was the last ACTH test and what were those results?
You mentioned she had high blood pressure. Is that being treated successfully?
Is her appointment next week with a GP or a specialist (either internal or eye doctor)?
I'm sorry for all the questions but the more information we have, the better we may be able to help.
