Hello and welcome to you and your little boy! I apologize in advance that I only have a moment to post right now, but can you please help us by giving us more information about your boy's Cushing's diagnosis: what symptoms does he have, any prior medical problems, what diagnostic testing was done? If you can give us the actual numbers for the Cushing's-specific test (either the LDDS or ACTH), that would be great.
Also, how much does your boy weigh, and how long has he been taking the Vetoryl? The reason why I ask about his weight is because the currently recommended starting dose is a formula of 1 mg. per pound. So I am wondering whether he is taking a dose that is higher than may be warranted right now.
Thanks in advance for your answers to these questions!

I just want to say hello and welcome to you too.
No they aren't usually in pain from high cortisol. If anything the opposite, cortisol can mask other problems like arthritis.
You feed him a good quality food, whatever type it is that he likes, but a good protein, moderate fat as they can be prone to pancreatis.
