Hi and welcome to our site. I am sorry you and your dog are having these problems.
I am not familiar with prenadale but more with Florinef - here is a link on Florinef - http://addisondogs.com/addisons/medlab/.
To address your question about the diarrhea many here use canned pumpkin (make sure it is plain pumpkin and NOT the pumpkin pie mix). Given that what has your vet mentioned about this? How is your vet monitoring the cortisol levels?
Keep us posted

Hi Steve and welcome to the forum
I've never heard of prenadale and I can't find anything on the internet either. Dogs whose cortisol have gone too low, throwing them into an addisonian crisis, are given prednisone and/or additional supplements, depending on which, if any additional adrenal hormones/steroids are affected. Did you mean to say prednisone? In any event, you need to contact your vet right away as diarrhea can be a side effect to the drug and you cannot stop it cold turkey or your girl could be in even more serious trouble.
I'm sure others will be by to welcome you as well as share their opinions on the scant information you have provided thus far. It would be helpful if you could share as much information as possible on the symptoms your dog had and the testing that was done to diagnose her.

Hi, folks! Just a quick note that it appears Steve may be referring to prednidale, also known as prednisolone. Here is a description from Dechra:

I just want to stop in and say welcome to the forum. It is very important that the cortisol levels continue to be monitored and that after a crisis, the prednidale or other steroid supplement be slowly tapered down to see if the adrenal gland will recover.
Canned pumpkin is small amount, like maybe a spoonful is good for either diarrhea or constipation depending on what is going on and not given too much or for too long.
Still I also urge you to make sure the vet is aware of what is going on.
It could have nothing to do with the cortisol of course and be a stomach gastro upset. Often antibiotics are given for this to clear it up.
