Oh that's so sweet. Great story thanks. I know its heartbreaking that kids have to lose their best friends especially to a disease like this.

Writing out their feelings about losing a pet is a good idea - I used to write poems or paint them out when I was a child- my daughter sings them out.
I'm sure you lot have had similar ways of coping.

And with a disease like this you have time to prepare which gives you an opportunity to do a bucket list like I did with my kids - and they had time to say goodbye - sudden deaths sometimes you don't get time to say goodbye so writing or praying to the dogs can really help.
