I have been so consumed with Bandit and the cushing issue I have been forgetting about my other baby Betty, so I thought I would tell you a little about her. I was brushing Bandit last night and kept feeling this cold nose on my elbow trying to get me to pay a little attention to Betty and I realized she has been getting very little attention lately and I felt horrible about it and for her . I put down the brush and started petting and talking to her and she was loving it. I've had Bandit since he was a puppy my sister bred Lhasa's so I got to pick him out. Some people I work with were trying to find a home for Betty , which was a rescue , and had been to several homes and they were getting ready to send her back to the shelter, I felt it would be good for Bandit to have a friend so I took her. I promised her she had found her permanent home and she has. Betty is a Manchester Terrier mix and they called her ugly Betty because she is an unusual looking dog but I have never felt she was ugly. Betty has turned out to be a very good girl she has been with us about 6 years now. Betty does tend to be an attention hog but lately its like she knows Bandit needs it more right now so she has not been as aggressive about attention lately. Well I've rambled enough now but I feel better talking a little bit about Betty for once.
Thank you for listening

Awwww, it is a pleasure to meet Betty!! :) :) :)
I'm so glad you've started a thread for her and please tell us more. I'll bet you've got a lot of stories about her and we'd love to hear them.
You are so right -- sometimes we get so wound up in the problems of one of our kids that the other/s get kind of neglected. So Betty's thread can be a nudge to us all to go and spend a few minutes with ALL our other dogs! ;)

Hello and welcome Betty. I'm sure Betty is still getting all the attention a pup needs. And I bet she isn't as unusual looking as my chelle who bears a striking resemblance to ET

Awww, what a precious little soul Betty is. It does get hard when you have more than one dog and one of them needs so much attention. Betty sounds quite precious.
I agree with Lori, we need pictures!!! :)

I'm trying to figure out how to post more than one picture. When I can figure it out I will love to post a picture of Betty. Not real good with all the new technology.

When you go to add a picture to your album, you should be able to add 3 pictures at a time, browsing on your computer.
You can also create more than one album if you would like. Betty could have her very own.

Just wanted to say after losing Bandit, I let Betty near me from afar, it was not her fault and I know she was mourning also but I was (and still ) in so much pain.
Over the last week I've been really looking and observing her and on several different occasions she has brought a smile to my face, I never thought I would smile again.
I have been sort of looking for another furbaby and if one comes along I will be open but now I ask myself why do I think I need another one after all I have Betty. I think for now I'm going to focus on her and give her the care and love she needs and deserves. There will never be a replacement for Bandit and I know that.

That sounds like a great plan! I've been so sad about Lena that I hardly ever laugh anymore and the first time Sibbie heard me, about 3 weeks after she had arrived, she just stared at me...she hadn't heard it in all that time. I am paying more attention to her and also the boys who were so good with Lee and loved her as well.
Gable has been the saddest and I think it's because it was his job to take care of them while I was at work, and maybe he thinks it's his fault that I am so sad all the time, but he knows I love him, I tell him all the time. He and Cooper are enjoying playing with the puppy and Sibbie already looks up to them.
Sibbie is no Lena, that's for sure...but she is a force all her own and takes these boys on even though they are so much bigger than she is. We are all adjusting to life without Lee.
There will never be another one like her. She was special, just like Bandit, but we are furbaby moms and the ones left behind still need us and I think Betty is lucky that you're her mom.

At least you have your other babies and the puppy, they sound like fun. I feel like my house has no life anymore.
I took Betty for a short walk yesterday and she loved it, I'm going to have to do that more often.
I did take a leap over the weekend, I inquired about adopting a Jack Russell but someone adopted him before me, he had a lot of people interested, he was really cute. I still felt guilty but I just need some life back in the house, the cat is real old and Betty is Betty , no one will ever replace Bandit and I'm not going to try to replace him, he is in my heart.

Thank you for taking in Betty and giving her a home. She sounds quirky and definitely in need of her own post. ;-) I'm sure she'll also appreciate and soak up all the attention you give her.
