Hello everyone, I am so thankful for this forum. My dog "punkin" was just diagnosed with cushing's. The dr. Would like to do a 9 hr blood work up or abdominal X-ray to determine which kind. I would like to attach her urine test and recent bloodwork for your review. Please tell me where to forward. Also, I would like to know about treating her holistically.
Much appreciated! Thanks so much !

Hello again, I forgot to give you some information on punkin. She is a Maltese 10 years old. Her symtoms are pot belly, blackheads on her belly, weakness occasionally in back legs, just started panting a lot, and hair loss. She does not seem to have excessive thirst but has increased eating. Also meant to say ultrasound instead of X-ray. Thanks :)

Hello Carlotta, and welcome to you and little Punkin! We surely understand how worried you must be feeling right now, so we are especially glad you've found us.
First off, in terms of Punkin's laboratory and test results, probably the very best thing you can do is go ahead and list any abnormal results right here in the body of a reply. We only need the results that are marked as being too high or too low, along with the normal reference range. We do not need to see the results that fall within the normal range.
I think an abdominal ultrasound is always a great diagnostic tool, because it gives you a lot of helpful information about other internal organs in addition to the adrenal glands. So we will be very interested in hearing the results. As far as holistic treatments, here is a reply that I recently wrote to another member. Her dog is much older than Lacey, so that is why I included my thoughts to her about treating senior Cushpups. But my advice about holistic treatment will be the same.

First things first, though. Let's take a look at those lab results, OK?

Hi Punkinsmom. So glad you found us and I hope you can post the abnormal test results.
Just post like this:
ALKP 550ug range 50 - 150ug
and post anything out of range. It is very helpful to the diagnostic process.
I totally agree with an ultrasound if it is feasible.
Let us know how things are going :)
