My Winnie has had Cushings for a year now, and is holding her own on weight and Kidney functions. She was on Lysodren and had terrible effects from it, so only on Epakitin twice a day. Going to start her on R Canin LP canned with her dry food. Once in a while her back end gets wobbly and massages her till it goes away. She is 13 now and so far no accidents in the house! She is a Corgi/Mix.

Welcome to you and Winnie!
I have manually approved your membership so now all your posts will be seen right away. Also, please just disregard the validation email that was sent to you from k9cushings.
I am sorry for the reasons that brought you here but glad you found us. I was wondering if you would get copies of the tests that were done on Winnie and post all abnormal values here along with the reference ranges and units of measurement...e.g..ALT 150 U/L (5-50)...Thanks! Also would you tell us what tests for Cushing's were originally done on Willie and post those results too?
Does Winnie have kidney disease? I'm assuming that Winnie does have some kind of kidney issue since she is taking Epaktin, which is a phosphate binder. Was/is her phosphorus elevated? And are the creatinine and BUN levels high also?
Would you share with us her treatment plan she was on with the Lysodren? Such as what loading dose of Lysodren she was on, and if she taking a maintenance dose what was that? Did her cortisol drop too low with the Lysodren? Were her electrolytes affected too? Is she taking any prednsione either in the past or present? How much did she weigh when the Lysodren was started?
What symptoms did Winnie display that led you or your vet to test for Cushing's in the first place? How are her symptoms now?
Sorry for all of those questions but the more we know about sweet Winnie the better our feedback can be, ok? Please know we are here to help in any way we can so do not hesitate to ask all the questions you want. ;)
Hugs, Lori

I just want to welcome you to the forum.
Lori has gotten you off to a good start with some questions.
Looking forward to hearing about your journey and what kind of kidney problems you are experiencing and the lyso treatment.
