Waiting for results from 3rd blood test - maybe tomorrow. I've read everything I can get my hands on. I'm scared to death. Maggie is my 10 yr. old silly terrier. She has ballooned to 16 lbs. She has pelvic stones in both kidneys, liver enlarged, right adrenal spongy. She has spells where she doesn't want to put weight on her back legs. She is still so vibrant and full of life. Don't know what I would do without her. I'm confused about treatment. I'll probably know more tomorrow. It's so comforting to be able to come here.

Welcome to the community, Carol!

I'm sorry to hear Maggie isn't feeling well. The test results will definitely help the more experienced here to give advice.

Could Maggie have injured her back at all? When she doesn't want to put weight on her back legs, is it always both at the same time, or is it one or the other?
(I am NOT a vet, but just asking based on my own pup's experiences)
One way to see if her back is painful at all, is to start up by the neck, and gently push with your thumb on one side of her spine, and pointer or middle finger (or both) on the other side of her spine. Each just to the sides of the spine. If it's not painful, she'll resist the downward motion. If it's painful, she'll let it go down from your touch, since resisting would cause more pain.
Dogs are incredibly stoic about pain, since in the wild, if an animal shows signs that they're in pain, then predators know they're easier to catch.
Just one thought for doing a little evaluation.

Best regards,
Samantha

Hi and welcome to you and your Maggie. I am sorry you are having these problems.

Firstly the excess weight can cause some back strain and pressure problems standing and having weight on her back legs.

When you get the chance, post some additional information on any symptoms etc as well as testing for Cushing's.

Hello and welcome from me too. I'm like Samantha I think, curious if this is both legs, and if you have checked her for any kind of back injury?
My molly hurt her back last year and absolutely did not want to put any weight on her back legs. It took 6 weeks of reduced activity and some medication to get her back to herself.

Do let us know.
Also do you have the test results that you can post for us?

welcome again
