My daughter who lost her oldest dog, Kylee, a few months before we lost Scoop has just found out that her youngest dog has cancer. Bowser is a 6 1/2 year old Pit Bull. He is the sweetest dog! He has been wonderful with my 2 young grand daughters. They found out Friday that he has masses around his heart and lungs. She said you could hardly see his heart on the x-ray. It breaks my heart that this has happened.
Please say a prayer for sweet Bowser.
Thank you.

Thank you again everyone. The vet told my daughter they could do surgery but they may end up removing too much of the lungs therefore no longer being able to function. If he would survive surgery he may only live up to 2 months. So they are making him as comfortable as possible and loving him as long as the can.

Thank you!

Last summer Bowser started having some skin issues. Then a few months ago he was having trouble with his one back leg. He was having trouble getting up. Then both legs were giving him trouble. The vet said it could possibly be arthritis. He had lost some weight. The vet said it could be from loss of muscle mass. Then the breathing problems. My daughter said before he started having problems with his back legs when she would come home from work he would stand on his back legs and put his front legs on her hips. She would bend over and she said it was like Bowser was giving her a hug.
He hadn't done that since he started having trouble with his back legs but when they were at the vet, after they took the x-ray and after the vet explained the x-ray, Bowser put his legs on my daughter's hips like he knew to say it will be OK. She said he did it twice. They are so amazing!

My Crys, a Pitty mix, would hug like that. But she also had to press her mouth to mine when she did because I would do that to her when she first came to make sure she was still breathing. She was almost starved to death when she was found and that is how I checked - I leaned over and put my nose to her nose to feel the breath. As she improved, she started hugging with her front paws on my neck and her mouth touching mine. :) It always made me feel so good inside, too.

Oh Vicki, how sad for you, your daughter and family. I'm sure Bowser will be surrounded with much love for his remaining time. Cherish every breath. It sounds like he is very lucky to be with the family he is.

Samantha

It is with a heavy heart I have to tell you Bowser went to the rainbow bridge today. I hope his sister Kylee and my Scoop were there to meet him. My daughter said he hadn't been comfortable in a few days. She said this morning he was having trouble breathing, his chest was making a crackling sound and he coughed up blood. It was time.

RIP sweet Bowser boy.
Your family loves you and you will be missed so very much.

Oh I am so sorry for the pain your family must now face. It is clear that Bowser was deeply loved so I know he flew from his suffering here on the wings of that love. Today his pain is no more, he is strong and running free with friends old and new.

Our deepest sympathies to you and your family,
Leslie and the gang

Oh Vicki. I'm sorry I'm just now seeing the thread for Bowser. :( You and your family have been through so much this past couple years.
Neither you or your daughter ever gave up on any of your furbabies and it is with a heavy heard that I send my condolences to you and your family.
RIP Bowser. I know you had your playmates waiting for you at the rainbow bridge and you are all having a great time meeting and playing once again.

Big hugs Vicki.
