Hi- I am new to the board. I have a beautiful cocker spaniel named Sammie. She was diagnoses with Cushings last spring. She is on 30 mg Vetoryl. Her test have showed that her hormone levels are doing okay but she struggles with muscle weakness. When she pulls a muscle she is lame for a few days and she is in a lot of pain. She cannot jump on the furniture anymore. She is 10 years old. I am looking for a supplement that I can give her for her muscle strength. I give her the glucosamine for joints but it doesn't seem to help. I am afraid at some point both her hind legs will go out at the same time and she won't be able to get around.

Hey and welcome to you and Sammie. I'm sorry to hear that she is having trouble. Some of the site gurus should be around soon and hopefully give you some useful information. I'm sorry I can't be of any help but I did want to say hello and welcome. :)

Hi and welcome to you and Sammie,

Sorry to hear that Sammie is having these issues. Improvement in muscle strength does happen but it can take a long time. Maybe laser therapy, acupuncture, and/or hydrotherapy, may help?

Could you tell us more about Sammie's diagnostic history? Also could you post her recent ACTH stimulation test results? Thanks!

Hugs, Lori
