Is anyone able to tell me, in a somewhat abbreviated version, what the different stages of Pituitary Dependent Cushing's Syndrome are? Or, what I can expect will happen to my dog? Boomer is a long haired dachshund. He is 7.5 years old. Started weight gain around late Fall 2013. Excessive drinking/urination since December 2013. Diagnosed with PDH in April 2014. He lost his sight in about a week, in mid April. Has been on Vetoryl, 30mg once a day for just over a week. He doesn't have hair loss, bad skin or any other symptoms. Is the progression the same for all dogs? Or, do they develop in no certain pattern, if at all? Is there such a thing as "catching this early"? Thanks.

I am questioning the diagnosis of Cushing's since you said he went blind suddenly. There is a condition called SARDS which mimics Cushing's yet is not Cushing's. Can you tell us what tests were done to diagnose the Cushing's?

Have you seen any changes at all since starting the Vetoryl?

How much does he weigh?

Here is some info on SARDS -
