Everyone loves a Good Dog Book, right? Many people have probably read Jon Katz, as he has written a least a dozen books about his dogs.

"IZZY & LENORE" is the book that I just finished. The copyright is 2008…I got it at the library. In this book Jon talks about his dog Izzy and how the two of them become a hospice volunteer duo. It is an enjoyable and inspiration read.
He also talks quite frankly about his journey into depression and how he dealt with it. I like his writing style because he seems honest and matter of fact.

Plot spoiler alert: No dog dies at the end of the book! :o

" Inside of A Dog What Dogs See, Smell and Know" by Alexandra Horowitz Copyright 2009

I saw this book in paperback at Costco and after flipping throughout it, decided to check it out at the library. The author is a psychology professor who studies the cognition of dogs and mixes her professional observations of her subjects with her personal observations of her own dogs. The stories get a bit dry and academic in spots, but still an interesting read.

After I read it , I was inspired to go around the house and hide some of Lucy's toys in odd spots so she would have something fun to discover.
