english is not my first language, so please what is rv?
Dixie'sMom
01-29-2015, 07:29 PM
RV means Recreational Vehicle. Its those campers that you drive and you can actually tow your car along behind if you want.
I'm so jealous! I want an RV too!
Spencersmom
01-29-2015, 08:25 PM
Yes....RV is for recreational vehicle! Ours is a 5th wheel that we will tow with our truck!
Our first RV was a 1990 HiLo that my Dad bought new and after my Mother died in 2000, Daddy just didn't have the desire anymore to go at it alone! We got it in 2004, enjoyed the snot out of it, then passed it to my son when we bought our first 5th wheel in 2009.
This one is soooooo much nicer, but we are freaking out a bit! We live in a tiny bungalow in the city that is going to be a huge challenge getting the new rig into our back yard, then being able to access the door to go inside! Been loosing sleep over it....but you know, I keep telling hubs we'll figure it out and it will work out fine!
Funny thing....our new RV is worth more than our house! Go figure!

Wow, Terry! (re the RV worth more than your house).
In this market, that's not incredibly surprising, though, I suppose.
I'm sure you will be making many new and wonderful memories in your new 5th wheel! I hope you'll post some pictures of your adventures :)
If you'll be coming by Chicago, let me know and we should meet for a meal or tea or coffee!
Cheers,
Samantha and Zanya

Lol....told Hubs we need to add some extra trips to our bucket list!!!
Y'all are awesome!!
East coast is something we've been wanting to do! Chicago is also on our bucket list, want to try some good pizza as well as enjoy the must visits! Arkansas is part of our travel from Michigan, where we live to Texas & Louisiana, where I'm from and have family there!
Ok....so now it's all about getting everything planned! I see some cool trips in our future over the next few years!!

We have a mere two block walk to LI Sound :-)
Be sure that your newest family member tolerates cats. Ours are used to living with dogs. :-)
Ours is one of three double lots in the whole area so there is room to park an RV.

The friends I have never met,
To my friends online
It's strange to have a friend that you have never hugged, shook their hand or looked in to their eyes.
But you have been touched by their soul, seen the good in their hearts and felt the warmth of their being.
The friends I have never met are not my friends untouched, for I have felt them with me when I needed them. I have confided in them and they are some of the kindest people I have ever known.
(copied from a post online.....felt it appropriate to share here....with my friends):D:D:D
Awwww, we feel the love and send it right back to you, thanks.
I saw a photo of a vintage RV with an awning parked overlooking the ocean. I immediately thought of you, though your RV is shiny and new.
Your post is so right. Although we all have not met, we are all friends, perhaps in a different way than an in person friend. I think we have seen inside each other's hearts in a way most friends can't.
Aww, now I am getting all mushy:o
I hope you have a nice weekend and staked out a spot for the RV.
Hugs too to your awesome hubby.

That is the truth. The things we have shared isn't always something you would share with your friend down the street even. The fears, the worries, the hip hip hurrah joyful moments, it all adds up to be a unique type of friendship. :)
hugs to all
It does Sharlene and other friends can't understand that, I mean we all cheer and understand the sight of a good poo, or what having one good day means, we understand that fear, joy and even heartbreak in ways most others can't.
Means a lot:)

Central CT got slammed by the last storm. I tore a tendon near my elbow trying to shovel the wall of snow that the town trucks plowed across dad's driveway. We're expecting more on Thursday and Saturday. No clue where to put it all.
Bella likes to run through the sidewalks which look more like topless tunnels because of the high snow. As much as I still miss Daisy Mae, watching a healthy dog play brings back wonderful memories.
I still haven't found the strength to write my complaint to the state about Daisy's vet's error. I must do it soon, they give you a year to file it from the date that it happened.
Safe travels Terry! Think of those of us who are snowbound. We'll live vicariously through you until we thaw out. Hugs

Sharlene & Addy....can't wait for much more light in the mornings and after work! We are still locked in frozen cold miserable winter temps, but not the snow like Valerie!!
Girl, are you ok? Hubs arm has been bothering him from dealing with what we've gotten so far, which is nothing like where you are! Take it easy, you din't need to injure yourself! Lol...love hearing about Bella! That makes me smile!
If this climate ever thaws, we will be able to take possession of our new 5th wheel! Right now, we are trying to make plans to vacation in South Dakota with my kids and Grandloves! Can't wait for summer!
What are y'all gonna do this summer??
Oh do tell us about your trip, I have never been to either Dakotas:)

Oh a new RV, brand spanking new!! How awesome is that. :)
I've never been to the Dakotas either. My mom and dad went. They got inspired when my mom thought that she was going to lose my dad to heart problems. She took early retirement, they sold everything that they didn't pack into my house, bought an RV and hit the road. They went everywhere. A whole pack of them just traveling, north in the summer, south in the winter. They loved the life, but would stop at some park and settle in for a year or two sometimes, then off they would go again, till finally it was too much and they sold the trailer and got an apartment. By the way, Dad lived another almost 25 years after mom's retirement. :)
Not sure what we're doing this summer. We just came back from Barbados, we have our youngest getting married in April, so guess we'll play it by ear.

More snow to come Terry!
The snow is so high that it fills 3/4 of my car window when I leave the driveway.
Our temps are expected to dump below freezing starting tomorrow.
Spring can't come soon enough. Global warming my butt!
My parents wanted to do the RV retirement but mom got Parkinson's first.
Can't wait for the pictures Terry!

Having a rough day!! Tired of the cold and snow! Being cooped up in the house is getting depressing......a constant reminder that my babies are no longer here to cuddle next to me, or greet me with kisses when I come home from work......or follow me from room to room!!
It's been a year since we had to say goodbye to Lexi, almost two months since losing my lil man and my heart still aches as if it were yesterday!
I hate having these moments.....especially at work!
aww, Terry, the weather is so awful it is hard not to have a bad day, especially if it involves work!!! I mean I can depressed at the mere thought of work:);) Actually, Im pretty sure I am allergic to my job because as soon as I get there, I feel sick and start sneezing.:p
It is hard not to be sad when you are still grieving. Those moments come and go for awhile and hopefully they will be easier to deal with.
I was watching a show the other night and they mentioned a very nice motto-"Today is a good day to have a good day!!"
I've been trying to tell myself that when I get up in the morning. So far it has been hit or miss:D:D:D:D

He did a butt wiggle?
Spencersmom
02-20-2015, 09:00 PM
No....not even a little! Refused to lick my hand too! Smelling my butt was totally out of question!!!!
Laughing & crying at the same time!!!
Such mixed emotions.....I try to lighten the heavy load on my heart with humor....it works for a minute....and if I get distracted...maybe longer...i don't share what I'm feeling with anyone! Not even hubs!
It's here only that I feel I can cry, share my pain and loneliness and my emptiness!!
Spencersmom
02-20-2015, 09:01 PM
My sorrow is unyielding!
Awww Sweetie, maybe a good long cry, just let it out. It is ok to cry and feel miserable. Sometimes we need to let all that pain out.

02-20-2015, 09:28 PM
You know....two weeks ago, hubs went to our primary care doc....she told him his BP was up....he tried to tell her about what we've been thru..........her comment was.......well, it's just a dog you need to think about yourself!
I just don't understand that! Neither can hubs!
I think I cry for the loss of my sweet furbabies, my parents...my life as I used to know and love it......so hard to move on when doing so means facing even more loss!!
Does that make sense?
Spencersmom
02-20-2015, 09:35 PM
FWIW.. Hubs nevers sees my tears....doesn't know my continuing sorrow....he has no clue to the heaviness in my heart, how much I miss my babies! I cry alone after he goes to sleep.
I just wish the hurting would heal!
molly muffin
02-20-2015, 09:47 PM
I wonder if he cries alone sometimes when you aren't around too? Or big strong men, sometimes they feel the same things we do but don't think they can show it in the same way.
Some days, it just all seems to pile up on us, the sorrows of our lives, past and anticipatory. You do just have to let it all out when that happens.
It's a big change in your lives in so many ways. Winter as Addy said, doesn't help things either. You are just stuck with too much time for thinking.
Sending you big hugs Terry!

Dear Terry
I wish I could give you a hug to comfort you. Spencer was and is your baby. The pain and grief your are feeling is valid. So don't listen to the nah sayers,we all know our fur babies are a part of us,they wiggle their way into our heart and soul and we are never the same. They are on loan to us for such a short time. So we realish the time we have with them and are left with the memories. But when they die a part of us dies with them. They will always be in our heart, mind and soul.
Hugs Sonja and Angel Apollo

Sonja.....you really hit the nail on the head! They in fact are on loan to us for a short time! Couldn't have said it better!!
Thank you all! Hubs and I took a drive today which we do regularly, just to get out of the house....it felt so strange to have no pillow on my lap with Spencer asleep, enjoying the drive!! I just sat, looking out the window watching everything go by.....wishing my lil man was there for me to stroke and talk to!!
I really miss my boy!

Hello sweet family!!! It's been a while, and while I have visited often, i have left the advice giving to all of you who do so much for all the scared furmommies and furdaddys!
Just want you all....each and every one of you who held my hand, calmed my fears, stood by to offer comfort and eventually condolences, that there is never, ever a day goes by that you are not in my thoughts!
You are a precious group who have so lovingly taken on the responsibility of helping out so many scared pet parents! Just want to hug you all!
Still miss lil man, still cry, but know that he is pain free. I treasure and thank the good Lord for giving me the time we had with each of our pets!

Terry, we'll always hold them dear to our hearts. Daisy flew in June, and I still have my moments. How could we not? Our furlets give something that humans aren't capable of...unconditional love. That is not something that we'll ever forget.
You'll have those days, but you are moving through the process and understand that Spencer and Daisy are truly pain free and I believe that a spiritual part of them lives on inside of us. It's the warm feeling that we get when we remember the special moments with them. Be sure that they are watching over us still. Hugs

Oh Terry, I understand so well how you feel as do many here. They leave such a big void that touches every aspect of our lives. It's storming here today and last night hearing the predictions my first thought was that Squirt no longer has to fear these storms. Our precious babies are free of all that. No more pain, no more fear, no more confusion; no vets, no pokes and prods, no nasty tasting meds. Every second they are happy, carefree, and filled with a loving light they hold for that day when we join them.
Hugs

Wow! Talk about new starts and changes!
We finally took possession of our brand new stinkingly cool totally awesome 5th wheel last friday! Headed straight to Algonac State Park for the weekend! Boy was it great to be out of the house, watching freighters go by on the St Claire river, enjoying a nice campfire outside and fireplace inside!! Life was good!!
Then it got better!! Yesterday, we welcomed a new and perfectly beautiful, sweet, precious Grandson into the family!!
I hope you all had a wonderful Easter! God is good, life goes on and our blessings continue! May you all receive many blessings this spring season as life renews and we continue down the path God has laid before us!!
