My Shih tuz is 15 years old and he goes to the vet. regularly. He has had many blood test but nothing has came back showing any illness. I have noticed that he is loosing hair on his tail and it appears to be very painful. He cries and jumps around and tucks his tail in. In the past several weeks I have noticed that his drinking has increased somewhat but eating and bathroom use has decreased very much to almost none at all. I have done research and it appears that with the information he may have Cushion's Disease but eating and bathroom time does not fall into the description for Cushion's Disease..Can anyone please tell me what this may be or if your pet has experience anything like this. I am desperate need of an answer.

Hi and welcome to you and your little Shih
Has he been tested for diabetes or thyroid issues? I am sure many will stop by to welcome you and share their experiences and knowledge.

Hi and welcome from me as well,
I have manually approved your membership so there is no need to check for a notification from us in your email/spam box.
If you could get copies of all tests that were done on your boy and post any abnormalities that are listed that would help us to provide you with more meaningful feedback. Is your boy taking any other herbs/supplements/medications?
Please know we will help in any way we can so do not hesitate to ask all the questions you want.

Hello and welcome to the forum.
As Lori said if you could post any abnormal results from any lab work, that would be very helpful.
When was the last time a vet checked him out? I am wondering about kidney's , anal sacs, glucose levels, etc. Not using the bathroom often doesn't really sound like cushings, but I am wondering if there might be something else going on. I'd take him to a vet to get checked out thoroughly and have a senior profile lab work done if you haven't had one since this started.
Welcome and we look forward to learning more about our little boy.

Hi And welcome.
Does your pup try to bite at the tail area or does he just tuck his tail in underneath him in pain? Do you think he might have any fleas in that area? It sounds like it might be his anal glands. If he's in pain maybe you should have your vet check him out? You didn't mention the last time he was seen. I hope you can get him some help. Good luck
