Trish that sounds like a plan, and we all know how we like plans here :D

Mac has arrived, and has more baggage that a human going on holiday  We have had a walk around the football field, he,s had some dinner and is now fast asleep on the sofa :D His dad brought him over and stayed for a coffee, whilst we were chatting about Mac,s routine we realised we hadn,t seen him in a few minutes, so went to look and yip he was asleep on my bed, safe to say he is quite at home here in Tracy,s Hotel for Dogs ;)

Trish
03-17-2014, 03:41 PM
Great!! Sounds like your house is his home away from home, just as good hotels should be :D Where is he going to sleep tonight, will he stay on your bed?

How's your Mum?

Woodydog
03-17-2014, 03:46 PM
Yeah he will probably sleep at the bottom of my bed, then when he gets too hot he goes to his own bed in the living room, or at least that's what he did the last time he stayed. He has been to the groomers today and is all nice and clean, won,t last long though.

Mum is doing ok, getting around with the help of her sticks, now had she used her sticks in the first place she wouldn,t have fell, but its all that pride thing that they do, your mum sounds the same. Glad she is out of hospital

Trish
03-17-2014, 03:57 PM
Glad to hear about your Mum, god they are such a worry aren't they. Mum does not need sticks, I do notice she is getting stiffer though with arthritis. But she is like a bull at a gate, she gets up out her chair and races off and I am always saying SLOW DOWN or you will trip and fall!!!

The funny thing is, it is about the same time last year when she had the last episode of arrhythmia that landed her in hospital and me on an urgent flight back from Melbourne where I had been at my yearly conference. I decided not to go to this years one, it is in Brisbane and started on Saturday!! Just goes to show that I have a major conference jinx lol, so pleased I did not go as I would have had to dash back home again! Missing catching up with all my friends there though, it's like a yearly get together.

Mac will be comfy down the bottom there!! Hope he sleeps OK!

Woodydog
03-17-2014, 04:03 PM
Goodness you must be physic, not to go this year. Parents yeah who would have them lol. I,m used to mum falling and being sick, she has been in and out of hospitals since I was 5 yrs old. She was told when I was 15 that with her arthritis she would be in a wheel chair within 2 years, and she was like not bloody likely, so she gets up and forces herself to go about her business and so far no wheel chair. :D

I hope Mac sleeps too as we will need to be up early for his walk before I go to work, then I can come home at lunchtime and see to him again. He has put on some weight since he last stayed, so need to get that off him, his dad is terrible for giving him treats :D

Trish
03-17-2014, 04:14 PM
Haha the "Tracy Hotel for Dogs" is also a fitness farm! He is going to love it, well maybe not the downturn in his treats!

Your Mum is a feisty one, love that attitude, nothing going to keep her down. Must have rubbed off on her daughter!!

I am going back to work tomorrow  STINK! But hopefully all will be well and Dad will not be readmitted to hospital today. I have been doing his dressing and it is still oozing, perhaps a little less and the wound is looking OK. Speaking of which, I need to head off as he has to be at the hospital at 10 and he hates running on my time schedule which tends to be late  so I better head off and get organised. Hope the first night goes well, I will check in later to see how it went! xxx

Sounds like you and Mac are going to have a fun time of it this month. Isn't that wonderful that he is so comfy at your place. I think that is really nice for him. So many of them stress when their people are away, but Mac sounds like he is okay with it as long as he has you.

Sleep well!

Well that's the first 24 hours over phew. No just kidding Mac slept really well last night, he snored and dreamt all night, me I barely slept not used to the noise and movement ha ha. It was a different story at 6 am this morning he wouldn't go out, well it was sideways rain but he did eventually go out with some gentle persuasion :D

When I came home from work he had pulled his blanket off the sofa along with a pillow and had some how managed to out the TV on. Now it may just fell on the floor and hit the on button or I am looking after a clever doggy. He's had a walk in the park and is now asleep. so we,ve survived only 30 days to go x

Ha, sounds like he is getting up to mischief while you are out at work, the little rascal!! How is he doing through the day or are you calling in each lunchtime to check on him? He is probably sleeping most the day to keep his energy up to play with you all night!! Hope your having fun with him xx

Woodydog
03-20-2014, 06:15 PM
Hey Trish

I come home each lunch time just to check on him and for a short toilet break, but he has to be the laziest dog I know lol. He sleeps most of the day, then has his long walk at night and he,s in bed by 9pm each night. He,s hating the 6 am walks, I literally have to carry him out the front door and he looks at me like "really ! its still dark crazy woman" Can you tell he lives with a retired couple :D But he is a good little dog, its a bit weird that he doesn,t beg for food, I,m so used to a dog that wants food 24/7. He isn,t a great eater but I,ve sussed that he wants treats instead of food, so it will be a battle of wills, and I will win, no treats till all dinner is eaten so he is learning

03-20-2014, 09:49 PM
Oh gee, more rain!!! Yikes. Hope there isn't any flooding and your friends place will stay dry.

Mac sounds like a real sweetheart. He's obviously had a pretty good time of it, sleeping in morning, treats when he wants LOL Now That is a dogs life!

Hi Tracy

That little Mac is going to be superfit by the time he goes back to his parents, nice he sleeps while you are away. Least he is not fretting!! Ouchies your poor back, hopefully just a little tweak lifting those sandbags, did the river subside without damaging your friends home? Imagine coming back from your holiday to a flooded house

It's Friday night for you, so your probably out with your mates for dinner celebrating the end of the week! If so, hope the bellini's are going down well :D I am here for an hour or two before I head off to the hairdresser to get the silvers covered! xx

We,re back from my mates. I wasn't going to go as it meant leaving Mac too long but he was allowed to come with me :D So we had fun and only a couple Bellini,s  Mac is now asleep in my bed.

No flooding of the river yet, but have had more rain so have left the sand bags in place. Since Marie left I've had 3 emails asking about Mac and a picture of her sun

I'm off out tomorrow night with two of my old school friends, we,ve kept in touch and meet up a few times a year so I guess more food, bellinis and some good old catch up I'm looking forward to it. Hope everyone has a good weekend

Hi all

Things are going well this week so far. Mac is doing fine and is finally getting up by himself for his morning walk. I have cooked stewed sausage for tea, it was Woodys favourite titbit so I haven't eaten it since he left but made it today and it felt right that Mac had a little too. He woofed it down so guess it was a hit with him :D

Hi Tracy, Hi Mel, Hi Mac, Hi Boycie!! :D:D

Can we catch up this weekend?? I hope so, missing my chats and hope you are all having a good week and some sunshine in your days! I don't think there would a dog on this whole wide earth that would say NO to sausage stew!! :D Glad the wee fellow has settled in just fine! xxx

Yes Trish/Mel a catch up is needed, I ll be around Saturday so hope to see you both.

I'm on holiday Friday and Monday so a lazy 4 day weekend for me yippee. Mac is doing fine, eating well but no treats till bedtime, so he is starting to lose the weight.

I had some bad news last night my big sisters, sister in law died last night whilst out jogging she was only 47 my sister is in bits as they were close, so I will go see her tomorrow see if she is ok. Also see my niece as not seen her for a few weeks, she only has 4 wks till the babies due :D

How nice to have a 4 day weekend!!! You can have some me time now after being back at work. :) Gosh your niece is that close already. It seems like just yesterday she was announcing she was pregnant! Where does the time go??!!!

Mac, won't look the same when his owners come home for him. All trim and ship shape. Tracy's Doggie B&B and spa is obviously working it's wonders. :)

OMG that is tragic, she was so young. Blardy hell, I hear stories like this and it puts me off exercise :( her poor family, it must be such a shock. Hope your sister is OK, time for you to do some cooking for her :o

Hope your niece is feeling well now she is in the last month! It has shot by, seems like hardly a few weeks back you were telling us she was pregnant. I went to a baby shower last weekend, one of my colleagues who is 41 is due in 5 weeks, she did the career thing then had trouble getting pregnant so went the IVF route and she is just beaming with it all, so we all have fingers crossed she has no problems as she is a tiny wee thing!

Hopefully we can get on for a catchup, have not heard from Mel in a couple of weeks so Mel if your reading hope all good on your end! xxxxx

Hey Tracy, Mac and Trish if you pop in here first :D

Enjoying your long weekend? Is it still rain and wind or has the sun finally rocked up?

Sorry to read about your sisters loss, such tragic news.

Can't believe it's a month till your niece is due, like Trish said only feels like yesterday since you mentioned it! Hope she is doing ok and not too uncomfortable as she gets bigger

Good to read lazy Mac is getting into the morning walking routine, Tia was very much a 5 more minutes dog whereas Boyce will get and go at anytime. Are you doing ok with him there? Has it been nice for you to have doggie company?

Are you still cooking?

Hopefully I will catch you both today..

Hi Everyone

Spent yesterday with my sister and niece they are both understandable upset over the death of Susan, so as I didn,t know what to do I just made lots of tea and coffee and sandwiches for everyone that was coming and going. Rachel my niece is huge ha ha, but she is just all bump and doesn,t seem to have put weight on anywhere else, she is tired but otherwise in good health.

Mac is really in my routine, he got me up at 6 am this morning, i was like its Saturday go to sleep but nope had to get up and walk him lol. I,m doing all right this time with him here. Last week when he was running and playing in the park, I got angry that it should have been Woody running and playing, so i had to have a word with myself. Its not Macs fault that Woody has gone, so I will put my grief back in its box whilst Mac is here. He really is a sweet dog, I keep calling him Woody oops.

Trish
03-29-2014, 03:55 PM
Awwww what a good sister you are being there for them, someone to made the cuppa's and food is always welcomed in times like this.

Glad having the Mac with you is not upsetting you too much, calling him Woody eh... my Mum does that, calls me my sisters name haha, so maybe it is age related!! :p

Hello Tracy and Mel!! How's are things going this week?? Hope all good in your neck of the woods and work is not too evil! The news on the radio on the way to work today said you have terrible smog and people with asthma etc have to stay indoors, hope that is not affecting you too much! NZ is all a buzz with our royal visit next week, with Prince William, Kate and baby George arriving! I hope they have a good time here :D hopefully catch up on the weekend for a chat xxxx

Tracy, when my mother passed away, others brought food and it was such a relief to not have to worry about cooking. I'm sure that they were glad to have you there.

Calling Mac Woody :-) I'll bet that he didn't know the difference as long as you took him for those walks. As for him going home and waking his parents up at 6am, that's what they get for going away again :-).

Woodydog
04-03-2014, 03:55 PM
Trish - We didn,t get the smog we had rain and some sunshine, I think the smog was down at Mels :) Work has been evil this week, everyone is walking around on eggshells as they had a massive order returned worth £2 million in total and the management is on the war path. It wasn,t my department as it was Vodka that was sent back and not my Malt phew:D

Mac is doing well, he was sick last night just the once but was fine afterwards, so don,t know what caused that. I managed to get the grass cut at the weekend as the weather was good, and Mac helped dig the garden, so the nice white dog they dropped off to Tracy,s hotel and spa for Dogs is em not so white anymore lol  He will have a spa day before he goes home.

molly muffin
04-03-2014, 05:21 PM
hehehe, mac had a blast in other words. LOL

Eeek that was a BIG order of vodka!! Glad it wasn't your department in the dog house. :)

I'm very jealous of you and Trish getting 10 days off!!! Wow! Is this regular that your company closes for a week?

Oh I did read about that smog, it sounded awful. Glad you didn't get it. Hope Mel didn't get it too bad either. People said they couldn't even walk around the block without losing their breath and that was people with no health problems! Imagine if you had asthma or heart issues. YIKES

Hey you

The smog did indeed make it here, I updated on Trish's. Was the vodka bad? That must have been a nightmare!

How is everyone your side? Holding up ok I hope after everything that has happened recently?

I hate it when they are sick but the little buggers will insist on picking stuff up off the floor, hope he is ok today? How long have you got left until his parents come back it's been a few weeks already hasn't it?

I have a few bits to do today so will be in and out but hopefully will catch you at some point

Hi Mel

Apparently the vodka had a bad smell to it, I smelled the returned bottles it smelled like really bad, so it has been sent away to be analysed to see what happened. How it got past the QC I will never know.

Everyone is ok the funerals were Tuesday for my sis and wed for my brother so it's been a hard week for them but there holding up. My niece is having some pains last few days so fingers crossed she,s not having the baby just yet

Mac is fine just sick that once, he is panting a lot tonight but the house is warm so not worried. Glad Boysie leg is better Mac does the kicking leg thing I've learned it to stand behind him as I get covered in dirt.

Trish
04-05-2014, 04:46 PM
Morning!! Ack, clocks went back last night. It is going to be so dark so early from now on! How is your weekend going?? Pleased to hear it was a oncer for little Mac being sick. He just sounds like he is having a great time, digging, getting muddy :D:D Bet the funerals were sad to get through for your family.

Woodydog
04-05-2014, 04:53 PM
Morning yes I can relate to the dark mornings, we are just coming out of them. I hate them it makes you want to stay in bed.

Yes it was a bad week for the family last week, but there getting on with things, my brother who,s father in law died was taken into hospital on Thursday morning, he has abseces (sp) in his throat, they wanted to keep him in but he wouldn,t stay so has some medicine to take. He suffered a lot as a kid with the same thing but hasn,t for many years they think its because he,s stressed and run down so he needs to take care of himself.

Weekend has been good went to my mates for dinner last night and Mac came too, I,m sure he was the one staggering up the road last night and not me  well I,m blaming him :p

Trish
04-05-2014, 04:59 PM
Yes, that silly wobbly dog, I am sure it was not you either :D:D

Ack your poor brother, probably stress not helping either. Those throat things can get nasty pretty quick too, hope the ABs sick it into touch quick smart!

How,s the boy today ? Have you got over meeting your rugby hunks ;) What you up to today

Trish
04-05-2014, 05:10 PM
He is OK, bit quiet but it is yucky rain outside. Woke up to the sound of him scratching so hope that is not going to come back. He is off the Pred too now, so might be feeling a bit funny getting that out his system. Also woke up in the night to him drinking twice, but he did not want to go out and pee  Think he is OK, its not heavy rain so we will get out for a walk today. I have the cleaning to do, I have been trying to get my photos sorted, they are all too big so last night I resized them all now I have to sync the phone/ipad. My phone cannot take photos as there is no storage left, or I would have got a photo of Victor last night!! It needs fixing :D That kind of stuff always does my head in LOL. Out this arvo to see a friend but that's about it! Telly on the couch seems good to me later on today :D

How's your Mum doing? All good there I hope?

Woodydog
04-05-2014, 05:16 PM
Mum is doing all right, she is getting excited about baby coming so that is keeping her occupied. :D

It probably is the pred coming out his system when is his scan, did they get back to you about fitting you in? Quiet day on the sofa sounds good to me, that's what I will be doing tomorrow as we have to get rain. Glad I managed to get the grass cut last week, although with this rain its just growing again

Trish
04-05-2014, 05:20 PM
Arrrrgh, I never did it last weekend, something got in the way of me doing that. It is a jungle out there. Oh well, raining now!:D

You bought any baby stuff yet?? I keep waiting for both my nieces to produce a baby, they are both in their 30's now so they better get a wriggle on!

No, still have not heard from IMS, two weeks till my holiday so be good to get that sorted.

Woodydog
04-05-2014, 05:30 PM
Yeah I,ve bought loads of stuff, every week when I go shopping I buy something else, so I have a box full of outfits, hats, blankets. I also bought the pram, its called a 3 in 1 and does all sorts not that I really understand Rachel just picked it and I paid for it :D I have no doubt that I will be conned into buying more stuff, but she has everything the baby will need as all the family have bought the big stuff like cot, pram, car seat she,s a lucky girl. :) This will be my 4th great niece/nephew as I have 3 great nieces in Australia. Makes me feel old lol

Trish
04-05-2014, 05:52 PM
We are old, well I am.. dunno about you LOL. She is a lucky girl, but that is what us Aunties do!! I spoil mine too :D

So any more news on the dodgy Vodka? Someone got the recipe wrong?!?!

Woodydog
04-05-2014, 05:57 PM
No its been sent away for analysis to see what has happened. It would appear that the department that pipes the vodka to the machines that bottle it raised it with the QC department saying it smelled funny but they were over ruled and told to bottle it, so I reckon they could be for the high jump, as its costing a fortune as we have to pay to have it all brought back in and as it maybe contaminated will have to be destroyed

Trish
04-05-2014, 06:30 PM
Oh lord, that will be expensive. Be interesting to hear what was wrong with it! Someone will pay for that, so glad its not you!

Woodydog
04-05-2014, 06:35 PM

Woo hoo I'm on holiday for 10 days let the sleeping in begin :D

Work has been quiet this week as they,ve been winding down due to the holidays. Still no news on what happened to the Vodka but the QC manager was sacked today oh dear. Mac is good and on our walk last night a little baby lamb followed us as it had got out its field, I was a bit worried that Mac might go for it but no worries there Mac was playing with the lamb they were running around together on the path but I did make sure it went back into the field. Can honestly say this little guy is the friendly dog I have ever met, he is certainly a lover not a fighter like Woody ha ha. He goes home on Tuesday and I will miss him :)

Awww, Mac is a doll for sure. He sure seems so sweet temperament. I'm sure the house will be emptier without him in it, snoring and playing. :)

Lovely, lovely holidays. I have 4 days next week and then a 3 day weekend That will be nice. I might not even do monday, 21st, since we're going to be slow I think at the office. I haven't decided yet, but it's in the back of my mind.
Or I could get paid to do a lot of nothing. hahaha

I hope you enjoy your time off. :)

QC Manager got sacked, well that would be the one that said nothing when was wrong when others said it smelled off right?
Gosh, I hope that cold isn't going to hit where you are. I saw where the weather was saying Scotland might get a cold blast for the Easter holidays.

I am out tonight but will check in when I get home to see if your about for a catchup! Hmmm QC sounds like they have taken the fall for the dodgy vodka. New bosses getting in to the swing of things now! Gosh that month has gone fast with Mac, glad you still get so see him frequently, dying to hear how he goes back at home and whether his early rises continue for his parents :p:rolleyes:

It was really good to watch, but for me it was a bit surreal, as I spent so many years keeping Woody on lead and away from all the dogs and wildlife and now little Mac is off lead playing with baby Lambs and running wild with the dogs up the park. It is really good to see :)

Well my little mucker (Scottish for friend) has gone home :(. I took him over about 8 pm tonight and he looked at both of them and jumped into Marie,s arms usually he is a daddy,s dog but he ignored Jim he then made a beeline for the window in the living room where he lies and watches the world go by. After a cuppa and a catch up I was leaving and shouted Mac I'm away and he came running out the door to follow me home Marie had to shut him in bless. It was a good month with him and helped me more than I thought it would he is really a "bomb proof" little guy but I will see him often. So looking forward to having my bed to myself tonight ha

Awww, Mac has gone home. He is such a happy little guy. I can just imagine him checking out His place, making sure it was just as he left it. LOL Then ready to go when you went too. hahaha

Yep, you'll have room to spread out if you want tonight. My munchkin is currently giving me heck since she's decided it is dinner time. I best go feed her. Is the weather warm there now or are you getting that cold blast I heard about? Hope you have a lovely Easter and are really enjoying your holiday.

Your sounding very productive for your holiday! The garden will be looking fab, my lawnmower broke on its last outing, I went around the outside of my little lawn then had to stop and empty the catcher and then the sting pull cord thing would not pull... jammed up it was. It is an ancient thing so I am going to buy a new one in the Easter sales. I want the type that is battery powered so I don't have to muck about with petrol and oil!! My lawn is hideous, it looks like an island of long grass in the middle with a mowed strip around the outside... Flynn likes it though and forges right on through!

Gosh the time with Mac has flown by, glad you enjoyed having him with you, sounds like he was missing you already!

Hope the family dramas are all settled. xxx

Morning you. I'm paying this morning for digging the garden my legs and arms are killing me lol but will finish it today. Git to do it when we have the weather.

The month did go quick but I had my bed to myself last night ah bliss  sun is out again today yippee. I'm staying away from the family dramas for the moment.

This is a bit strange chatting during the week :D:D well just think you will be trimming up your arms and legs with all that hard work! I have a busy week with all these birthday celebrations... sister tomorrow. Then my besties son is 21 and going to his do on Saturday night. Hmmm what to buy as a 21st present for him?? When he was a young fellow I always used to give him the choice of present or a treat day... treat day involved going out somewhere and having fun... he always picked that cos he knew I would buy him a pressie too! Once it was his sisters "treat day" and I took them both... we were up town and he was walking right around the edge of this big fountain, you guessed it. He fell in! I had to take him to a store and buy a new set of clothes, he always remembers that and thinks it funny he got a present and it was not even his birthday. He is at university now in another city from us, so it is always nice to catch up with him when he is home!!

04-16-2014, 05:20 AM
Not daft that 21 year old I think he played you well :D but I bet you knew that. No idea what to buy him my nephew was 23 on Friday I gave him money as he wanted some play station game that I don't understand lol.

You will be shattered with a all the celebrations but enjoy.

How's the boy !

Trish
04-16-2014, 05:26 AM
Well after tomorrow I have 10 days to get over it!! Yes, he was a clever boy!! I still have a rock in my garden from a trip with him to the beach as a wee 3 year old, it is huge about 2kg. I spotted it and said I liked it and he picked it up and lugged it all the way back to the car for me, I kept saying give it to me and I will carry it... but nope that little fellow insisted on carrying it all the way himself. He had to stop and have little rests :D. I always smile when I see that rock thinking of the effort he put into it! Maybe I should wrap it up for him for his present hahahaha

Woodydog
04-16-2014, 05:32 AM
Now that would be funny and embarrassing now for him :p

Yay for holidays I've only got 5 days left boo hiss they go so quickly :(

So busy day today I have dug the garden I had a patch at the back where an old garage used to be and has lay untouched for a few years. So I have broken up the concrete base, dug out all the weeds, flattened the earth and levelled it all out have put down weed controller and now I need to order stone chips for it phew no wonder I'm shattered. It's raining tonight so glad I've done most of the garden. House is all tidy so as I'm on holiday a wee cheeky beer and some TV for me :D

I know it's hard to be at work whenever everybody else seems to be off so boring and dull compared to normal hustle and bustle. I think that was why I decided to take today off in fact both everyone's going to be off to just not that much to do.

Hope you have a good week

Evening not much to report this week. Work was quite busy, they are frantically trying to replace the bad vodka that has come back. Been to see little Mac today, he was in the vets on Thursday to be neutered and he is doing just fine, feeling sorry for himself :)

My niece is still holding onto the baby she is 6 days over her due date

A little giggle for you all. Tonight my friend and I went a walk as it was a lovely night, we headed into the woods that have a path that takes you round outside of the village about 3 miles, well we decided to go a different way and we got lost  we must have been too busy chatting, we soon realised that we had no idea where we were and it was getting dark we turned back the way we came but we had no idea which way to go. So cut a long story short I had to phone the police and explain, they were very good about it and located us thru the GpS on my phone and talked us out the woods. They were waiting for us at the path entrance. I was so embarrassed and filthy as we had came thru mud and all sorts, they did laugh at us but gave us a pep talk as we only had a bottle of water each and one phone mine thank god for iPhones lol we did laugh all the way :D

molly muffin
04-29-2014, 06:21 PM
Oh my gosh Tracy!!! What an adventure! Thank god you had the phone with you! (note to self, take phone with you on walks) You must have got a bit of a chuckle out of that too. Smart thinking to call the police and them locate you via the GPS. Panicking would be very bad in that situation I imagine. So yea for your cool thinking.

Really?! She is still holding onto that baby. I'm thinking it must be awful comfortable in there and not want to come out. LOL Man though that might be a big baby when it Does come.

Keep us informed! and don't forget to take bread crumbs with you when next you venture into the forest!!

LMAO! That is hilarious, Tracy! :p:D:p:D And the cops laughed! :p:p:p Oh, the images I have of ya'll emerging from the woods to see your uniformed greeting party giggling. :p:p:p:D:D:p:p:p I am very glad and impressed they helped ya'll, tho. Ya'll might have ended up dinner for one of those Giant Wetas or something. :D:D

Tell your niece I got her beat! I KNOW the date I got pregnant with my daughter and the doc agreed with the timing based on exams and tests. He set her due date at May 5...which came and went without a twitch and the sonograms showed she wasn't as far along as he thought (I disagreed, knowing when she was created) and he moved the date back to June 13. Nada. By July, I was DONE and that child was coming out one way or the other. I started jumping off my neighbors porch which was about 2' off the ground; I drank bottle after bottle of castor oil because the doc said that sometimes helped; I walked miles every day; I even went horseback riding....and she just dug in deeper. I started having Braxton Hicks contractions around the 19th and thought THIS IS IT so off to the hospital we went....where I was told I was 3 cm dilated and to walk the halls. I walked and walked and walked and the contractions stopped so they sent me home. I remained at 3mc every day the doc checked - and I had to go see him every single day! 3 more episodes of BH contractions but I stayed home those times. FINALLY 5am on the morning of the 21st the plug came out but my water never broke. I stayed home til the contractions were getting pretty steady then called my husband and dad, who took me to the hospital. My hubby got stopped for speeding on his way and told the cop he didn't have time to talk to him - HE was in labor!:p Needless to say, he got an escort to the hospital, lights and sirens full tilt. :D:D:D I got to the hospital around 9am and she finally deigned to make an appearance at 6pm. She remained stubborn all her life! :D (And I have NO IDEA where that came from! ;))

Tell your niece to hang in there - this will all be worth it the second that babe is in her arms. Sending prayers that all goes well for both of them.

Hi everyone still not googled what a weta is and don't think I want to know. I was a good girl last night and stayed home I was tired had a hectic week plus my stone chips were arriving a 8 am this morning all 3 tonnes of them

So the garden is finally finished phew I ache from head to toe even my hair feels sore but I've done it. I had to wheel barrow the chips all the way up the garden several million times but it's done. I have before and after pics in my album.

Last year I barely touched the garden because woody needed me and this piece of garden has lay a mess for years and Woody was never allowed near it as it had nails, glass and all sorts in it and I always said I would clear it for him and he would be able to go there so today I have decided to dedicate this part of garden to Woody. I have ordered a bench with a plaque on it.

I finally done it Woody I'm just so sorry you never got to see it or play in it :(

Oh it as the giant one i googled I hate creepy crawlies of any kind especially spiders, woody used to kill the spiders for me, he once sat staring at one on the wall for an hour waiting on it coming down so he could kill it

Trish
05-04-2014, 06:46 AM
Ohhhh spiders... I hate them too  have a look at this, it was on my FB today.... you have to scroll down and play the video. It is hideous and I am NEVER going to Brazil!! I am sure it is a lovely country and all but... really?

Trish
05-04-2014, 07:14 AM
I don't think these are bigger than the weta, but there are heaps of them hanging off power lines, apparently got blown out of a tree. They look like tarantulas or something equally nasty... don't look Tina, would hate to put you off your sleep!

Baby boy has finally arrived this morning at 0851 hrs (tue) weighing a wooping 8lb 13 oz he is gorgeous. Rachel did really well but lost a lot if blood so needed 2 transfusions and put into ICU to monitor her BP as it was all over the place thankfully she is a all right. It was pretty frightening for a while and my sister was a mess. She has been transferred back to the ward now and I'm finally home it's now 5 pm, I'm exhausted.

Welcome to the world little Mason :D

Awwww a wee Mason, poor Rachel sounds like a rough ride. Hopefully now she has that bonny wee baby in her arms it will all fade into oblivion!! Hope your tucked up in bed getting some rest and not having to go to work... which is where I should be very soon!!! See what happens when I log on in the morning, I end up straining my brain doing Leslies math problem!! :D:D Hopefully catch up soon! congrats to you all xx

Thanks everyone I can't sleep  guess I'm over tired not been in bed for 39 hrs oops I just powered napped at the hospital. I called the hospital earlier and she is doing all right, BP still going up and down as is her pulse so she is being closely monitored. Mason is doing great he was a forcep birth so has little marks on his face which should fade with time. I managed to hold it all together during the panic earlier and keep my sister and Ian Rachel's partner calm but I crumbled when I came home as she was rushed straight to theatre so fast. I helped my sister bring Rachel and her brother up as she was a single parent so I am very close to them, they have decided to give Mason a middle name of Brady my fathers middle name in his memory. I'm so proud of her :D

Sorry just a touch emotional tonight

Awww Tracy! Big Hugs! Sometimes you just need a hug. It has been a very stressful couple of days, waiting on the babe to come and then the worry for Rachel. Have any melatonin in the house? Maybe a bit of herbal help to calm the nerves after this kind of day.

Wow what a stressful couple of days you have all had there. Hope Rachel is feeling better today and that Mason is doing just fine so you can all just relax and get to enjoy cuddling that wee man! Did you get some sleep?? Gawd I bet the adrenaline was pumping with getting rushed to theatre. Calmer days is what you all need now :) xx

Hi everyone managed a few hours sleep last night. Rachel and Mason got home about an hour ago so all good :D

Hi Tracy, hope all going well for Rachel and Mason!! Are you out having your Friday night catchup with your mates... I think at the end of this week you deserve some celebratory drinks!!

I read this on our news this morning about Scottish whisky upset with NZ whisky and wondered if it is your company. I bet there are heaps of different companies though

Hey guys

Only managed a couple of hours out tonight as I'm shattered, I doubt the week has caught up with me lol. Mother and baby doing well, Mason is a very contented little baby for the moment. Rachel and Ian and baby Mason are staying the weekend with my sister as Rachel is still very weak and ever so pale and my sister wants to look after her for a few days get her strength back up :D

Trish that's not my company they only make whiskey we make whiskey, vodka and lots more

Trish
05-09-2014, 06:20 PM

Woodydog
05-09-2014, 06:26 PM
Yeah I think they were secretly relieved when Mandy went to get them last night and said that they were to stay the weekend at the end of the day Rachel is still her baby. I was down for a few hrs last night and she really has taken to motherhood rather well. The biggest surprise is her brother Alastair he is running her baths and making sure she has everything she needs they spent so many years fighting lol. Little mason follows ally,s voice everywhere :D

Cute, family all coming together!! What your plans for the weekend. Mum is flying home today, I am heading around to their house in couple of hours to fix up all the beds as Dad moved into her room while she was away and I have been in his room. I usually change all their linen on the beds each week to save them that job. I have an engagement party I am meant to be going to this afternoon, will see if I make it.

Hi they were all good, he was asleep the whole time i was in lol. She is still very pale and has little strength but i,m sure with time she will get her strength back. She is going back to her own house tomorrow,so that she can get Mason into a routine before his daddy goes back to work :) I asked who has been getting up with him during the night and they all have lol so thats my sister, rachel, daddy ian and alastair, the whole point of staying at Mandys was so she could get a sleep :D They are having to wake Mason up for his feed as he would go 6 to 8 hours between but my sister has "nicely" persuaded her to wake him about 4/5 hours so that he has a sort of routine

How was your day.

Trish
05-10-2014, 05:31 PM
Still early, picking up Mum at 11 to go into town for lunch and a bit of a look about the shops. Flynn is so good at the moment, so pleased to see!! Apart from that evil itch... will shower him soon! You in for the night?

Woodydog
05-10-2014, 05:37 PM
Yeah was suppose to have a quiet day but my Friday night drinking mate was rushed into hospital this afternoon so I had to go visit and take her some things, she is ok. It's been really bad rain here the kind you can barely see with when driving.

That darn itch can't catch a break from it can he poor guy. Some lunch with mum and a mull round shops sounds like a perfect Sunday

Hey Girls

Must have sensed you were both in, I have been away twice for the bank hols and it's been review time at work so I have been v busy.

Didn't want you to think I had forgotten you all so I thought I should pop in.

Heart just about broke when I read about squirt and grace, poor Leslie.

So how you both been? You have all been on my mind, even if I haven't been posting.

I did just see patti came in over Easter, was good to see she is ok.

Boyce is good, loved his holidays, he isn't so keen on the sand these days as I think it makes his legs sore but there were plenty of other places, he got up at 06:30 each day little shite as he wanted to go exploring :D

Woodydog
05-10-2014, 06:11 PM
Yeah saw Mac Thursday when I popped in for a cuppa, he is doing well and has the snip but he is bouncing around lol

There is two little JRT in rescue I keep looking at they are only 2 and have to be rehomed together. Some days I think yip go for it, next day I'm not so sure :)

Mel-Tia
05-10-2014, 06:14 PM
I am an advocate for having 2 as they have each other when you leave them and to play with if they are naughty buggers with other dogs!

I always used to imagine Tia looking after Boyce.

How old are they?

Mel-Tia

That link doesn't work, Trish search dogs trust Glasgow, then you can filter to JRT's

Ben has such a scruffy coat, they couldn't be more opposite, Alfie has all the traditional markings on his face. I think they are well cute

They are so cute Tracy, I can see why you love Greg too... he looks a real sweetie!! My brother's name is Greg :)

Mel-Tia
05-10-2014, 06:34 PM
I vote take them, I think that you are ready now, two will be different from when you had Woody boy which I think is a good thing. They will have each other when you are at work and will love it at your house xx

And I also think not many people would take them both

Woodydog
05-10-2014, 06:36 PM
Yeah Alfie does have a look of Flynn. He is a different colour from Woody as he was mostly white, couldn't hurt to go meet them would it

Trish
05-10-2014, 06:37 PM
Looks like Woody too, it does not say if they are litter mates. They so different though. I vote TAKE THEM!!!! Can you go for a visit, like today?? :D

Trish
05-10-2014, 06:38 PM
Yeah Flynn has that black on his back.. he definitely has Woody ears though, all perked up like that!

Woodydog
05-10-2014, 06:39 PM
Well Trish not today as it's 11.30 pm but could go tomorrow at least to look

Mel-Tia
05-10-2014, 06:40 PM
No it definitely won't hurt, maybe take them both out for a walk see how it feels.

I warn you if they have flexi leads, if they are anything like mine you will end up tangled and constantly changing the leads from one hand to another. That used to annoy me, now I don't know what to do with one hand, funny what things you miss!

Trish
05-10-2014, 06:40 PM
Yep open 12-4, including weekends :D

Woodydog
05-10-2014, 06:44 PM
I,ll see how I feel in the morning but probably will go see them :D

Mel it is funny the things you miss, it has been years since I've had two dogs together could I cope ..... Probably ok I WILL go see them tomorrow

Mel-Tia
05-10-2014, 06:54 PM
Course you can cope, they are only little :D. Will be a bit more expensive but your working now.

I think you should see them, nothing lost doing that, you don't definitely have to take them.

What worries you about having 2?

Woodydog
05-10-2014, 06:58 PM
Not sure Mel that they may not get on but they wouldn't rehome them together if the didn't get on, although as you say they could keep each other company, wouldn't be that much more expensive would it?

Mel-Tia
05-10-2014, 07:00 PM
No I wouldn't have thought so, doubt they each shed loads.

Am guessing they must have been taken from the same place which is why they want them homed together, they can't have known life without each other as I am sure it must be harder to re home 2 than 1

Trish
05-10-2014, 07:01 PM
They were probably together in another home before they got to the rescue?? Yep I think see them, and Greg too!

Woodydog
05-10-2014, 07:04 PM
They must have came in together the dogstrust only take strays from the pound in so the must have been picked up together. It didn't cost me much to fed woody about £5 pounds per week so wouldn't be much more. It is harder to rehome 2 dogs but I wouldn't think it would be more work just extra cuddles :D

Woodydog
05-10-2014, 07:07 PM
Greg is divine with his little grey face but I know this is terrible he is older than what I was looking for.

Right decision made I'm going to the centre tomorrow have a look and if I come home with all three of them I'm blaming you two :D

Mel-Tia
05-10-2014, 07:09 PM
One of my favourite memories is my two larking around together. Tia was always super fast so he would have to proper chase her, he would kind of nip her which she would tolerate to a point then she would have enough and run off leaving him standing.

Another is after a long day how they would lie side by side with one keg kicked out behind, Tia usually had more of the bed :D

Such joy to see them together, as they love each other like they love us xx

Mel-Tia
05-10-2014, 07:11 PM
That's not terrible, I thought when I saw him you needed a younger dog as you are still getting over losing Woody and to have a issue with Greg would be horrible for you both.

Trish
05-10-2014, 07:13 PM
Yeah that's true about Greg, don't feel bad. 3 would be quite a handful!! Take photos of them please! :D

Woodydog
05-10-2014, 07:16 PM
Aw Mel that sounds lovely and also like lots of fun, I love that Tia left him standing :D hearing that makes me feel better about 2. Were they good mates I like to see dogs snuggled together

Trish
05-10-2014, 07:20 PM
Tia sounds like such a speedy girl!! Yes, I like the idea of them snuggling up together too. Wish I had two, but don't think it right to bring another one to disturb Flynn's life of luxury!

Mel-Tia
05-10-2014, 07:29 PM
Tia is the reason we have Boyce. He looked after her as she was the only girl and we didn't have the heart to part them. They loved each other very much, him more than her but she did always spend time sleeping next to him each day and kicking him out of where he was, she would often jump on him when he was on a chair if he looked comfortable, cow  I would tell her not to but she always did!

Woodydog
05-10-2014, 07:32 PM
That sounds like a lot of fun in your house no wonder you miss her so much she sounds like she had a big personality. Poor Boysie being kicked off the chair he will miss that and Tia too:)

Mel-Tia
05-10-2014, 07:34 PM
I think he probably did at first but now he probably likes the fact he doesn't have to share anything.

Whenever we go away we always eat out I never cook so I always take home a little bit of meat, we did that tradition with her and she would push him out the way again so I bet he doesn't miss her for that :D he sits right down as soon as he sees a little white package in my hand as I always wrap it in a napkin x

Woodydog
05-10-2014, 07:38 PM
I always did that too, wrapped in a napkin must be a dog owning thing lol yip he,ll be glad he gets the titbits to himself.

I'm off to sleep as it's late, great to hear from you, take care and don't be a stranger. I better get some sleep for my adventure tomorrow

Mel-Tia
05-10-2014, 07:39 PM
I won't be. Night night xxx

Trish
05-11-2014, 12:45 AM
Awww that's so sweet with the napkin thing... Mum has always done that right back as far as I can remember even when we just had cats! So whenever she comes home Flynn thinks she might have a tasty treat only to be disappointed last year or so with the IBD and strict diets he has not been able to get the treats and Elle gets them!

molly muffin
05-11-2014, 01:01 AM
oh how great Tracy! You are going to see the boys. :) I bet they came from same home and need to be together for comfort.
Ask how they get along with other dogs too!! They need to be able to make friends with Mac and the other canines in your circle. :) I bet two would be fun. They do have the JRT's that have the longer hair, sort of whiskers. I think Tipper has that a bit and Squirt did too.
Oh what an interesting day tomorrow will be! I'll be waiting for a report too. hahaha

Mel! Girl, so glad to see you back. Lovely you got some holidays though, nasty about the abscess. Betcha it was a sinus cavity. Man those things can hurt like the dickens too and make you feel like royal crud.

Trish, your mom's day out sounds just perfect. Not sure I've ever had Turkish food. I saw an Afghan restaurant the other day and wondered what sort of food they would have. (if someone says goat I'm outta there).

Bed time for me too gals.

05-11-2014, 01:25 PM
Well I've been to the rescue centre today and wanted to bring them all home :p

I saw Alfie and Ben. Alfie the black scruffy one is one yr old and is a JRT cross Westie knew he wasn't full jack he was very calm and ever so sweet, Ben is a 2 yr old tiny Jack Russell he has the smallest face I've ever seen, he was very scared of me and wouldn't come near. It was thunder and lightning and hail all day today so couldn't take them a walk as staff weren't sure how they would react in it so no dogs were allowed out to walk so spent time with them in the training room. They have never lived indoors and came in together staff wouldn't tell me anymore. There is another family interested in them so will have to wait and see but I have registered for them :D

I also met Greg when I was there, when I found out his story I could have picked him up and took him home there and then. He is 16 years old a bit wobbly on his feet but sharp as a button he came over all wiggly for treats, his old family didn't want him anymore he had been with them his whole life  I couldn't take him as I have stairs in the house and his legs can't so stairs or he would've spent his last days here, I just don't get people sometimes. I hope Greg gets his forever family soon no dog deserves to be in there but at 16 years old he should be on a warm sofa somewhere

Awww, I do hope Greg finds a home with a nice warm couch to live out the rest of his days. How sad, that his home family would get rid of him when he got old. That really sucks. :( I hope that wasn't the reason. They'll get old one day too. grrrr

Oh wow the boys have never lived inside??!! I guess I'm use to spoiling my dogs, they have all lived inside, both big and small ones.

Awww I agree, they too small and cute to live outside. They look so cute Tracy, got my fingers crossed it works out. Poor Greg, that is so sad his family gave him up like that, beggars belief really why people do that. I hope they had some good reason and not that they are heartless shites. If that is the case then he will probably end up somewhere better to live out his life. I am glad you went to see all the boys and give them some happy time with treats!! Be watching to see how this progresses!! Hope your having a good week and that Rachael and Mason are doing well! x

Well some good news and no so good news. Little Greg the 16 yr old JRT has found a new home yay he will have that warm sofa, I couldn't be more happy i couldn't stop thinking about him :D not so good news for me is little Alfie and Ben are going to another family, I wasn't quick enough lol but at least they have a new family :D

Mason is doing great, Rachel isn't great she's ok but still very pale, her stitches aren't knitting together and she has a little infection so more antibiotics and iron tablets so they are staying put at my sisters till she is stronger. She sends me at least 3 pictures of him everyday :D

I have a bit of a work dilema going on, so I have requested a meeting with the new boss, as that's my 3 months training over and I'm still not doing my proper job

So to cheer myself up I have booked a holiday for September, a little holiday cottage in the Lake District a place I love and visited often with Woody. The cottage allows dogs as you never know what will happen between now and then :p

Hi Tracy,

Oh I am so glad that Greg has found a nice warm couch to spend his remaining days on and a family to give him hugs and kisses.

So, sorry that the two Alfie and Ben aren't coming home to you, but I'm glad they found a forever home together. Now you know, also, that two might be an interesting option for you. Such fun!! I'm sure that others will pop up that might work out and when it's right, it will be Very right.

Poop on the work situation. I hope that ends up being resolved to your satisfaction as it is always such stress when things aren't going right at work and have to be sorted out. Best to just get it over with.

Oh the Lake District! How wonderful! I've seen so many pictures of that area and one of my favorite writers lives and sets his stories in the lake district, Stephen Booth. It is one of my dream areas to go to one day. Just so beautiful!

Ah well the search goes on, I am so glad those 3 boys have found forever homes and hope they will be very happy, especially Greg in his twilight years!

Did the work meeting go OK? Hope it all gets sorted out, good for you addressing it.

It is so good to have a nice holiday to look forward too, that Lake District is so pretty, I watch a show on Sky every now and then about that area looks like a lovely place to wander about and I can see why you and Woody would have liked it. Maybe you will have a new little mate by then to go with you!

Poor Rachael, sounds like she is still having a rough time... your sister will be lavishing all her lovely cooking on them!!

Pleased to read Woody's memorial bench is in place, I can just picture you sitting there and chilling out watching the world go by! See you on the weekend Tracy!! Your half way through Friday now, so end of the working week in sight YAY! xx

Tracy:
What a wonderful idea making a memorial bench for Woody. That could be a quiet place to go and communicate with him. Blessings

Hello all

It's been a long week but it's the weekend now yipee. And I will whisper this we,ve had really hot sun for 2 days it's great :D

Rachel and Mason went home to there on place last night, my sister wanted her to stay longer but she wanted to go home, but as she only lives 10 mins from her mum then she can still keep an eye on her

My work meeting went not to bad got most of the answers I was looking for maybe not the right answers but will give it some thought over the weekend.

Hey!! Happy Friday, you home already! Yes it has been a long week here too. Did not finish everything Friday, had thoughts of going into work today. But now the sun is shining on this chilly morning so any thoughts of work are out the window :D It can wait till Monday

Ohhh I hope you can stay at that place, I remember when you got the job some of the HR processes were dodgy, hope they have sorted their act out now.

Work decisions always seem to take a lot of brain power. Hahaha. Hope you figure things out and it works out for the best of what you are looking for from them.

Did someone say sun!! I hope we have some sun and warmth this weekend. I'm definitely ready.

So glad that Rachel and Mason are good to go home to their own place.
(Yet close enough for mom and auntie to pop in!) hehe

Enjoy the weekend

Yeah wasn't out long tonight as my friend was just out of hospital today so she was tired, she had acute pancreatitis and she was treated pretty much like the vets treat a dog with the same illness, I thought it was rather funny.

I'm not sure I,ll stay at this job I'm just bored, it doesn't challenge me enough but it is close to home and is an income. I've moved departments today, and will finally be doing part if the job I should be doing so I suppose it's a start

Hi Sharlene - don't they just! I wish I could win lotto and take the rest of the decade off!! Actually, I would want to keep going a couple of days a week as I generally love my job but the politics of the workplace as we all seem to experience get to me sometimes. But I just use my "ignore" coping mechanism and it generally goes away!! That's my strategy anyway :D

Yeah, we have sun but not much warmth, inside with the heater on will a little crack in the door so Flynny can come and go as he pleases!

Ohhh hope Rachael is feeling better and that infection has settled down, must be if she is off to her own place!

Rach is a bit better the midwife was in today for her last visit and she hugged Rachel and said you poor mite you,ve been through the mill. Mandy wanted her to stay but she wants to get in a routine as her partner is due back at work next week.

It's 11pm and still 15 degrees which is really warm for us in Scotland lol
