I pray all our members in the path of this super storm come out of it with no loss or damage. If you are in the areas being evacuated, I hope you are in a safe place with those you love. Please let us hear from you as you can and know your family at k9cushing's is holding you all in our prayers.

Hugs,
Leslie

I can't even begin to imagine how scary this must be...please be safe and unharmed to everyone, human and animal, in the path of this storm. It's huge news here as well, the entire world is watching and hoping and praying for you...

Saskia.

Beth, Scoobie and Bailey's mom, is in the thick of it! She just posted that their siding is blowing off and into the neighbors yard. They are just calling for voluntary evacs where she is but she and Kevin think it is already too late to get out. :(

We have several older members in the path of this storm. :(

It will probably hit were I live sometime in the wee hours of the night. I had my electric go out around noon and it just came back on.

The company I work for has cancelled all shifts, so at least I do not have to travel the roads.

The wind is starting to blow and rain is falling, my house is nestled on top of a pretty high hill so flooding should not be a problem, but that wind is what really concerns me.

Holding everyone in my thoughts and prayers, Lori

Signing off before lose all power.

Thinking of all of you in Sandy's path. I hope you are all okay. We have relatives also along the East Coast so I hope everyone is okay. The pictures so far dont look too good. Our wind is howling so I cannot imagine what your winds must sound like:eek::eek:

I pray you are all okay.

Here in York, PA. Sandy wasn't as bad as they predicted, Thank GOD!!!

Sustained winds of around 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph, not a lot of rain, but they say we will get more rain.

Hope everyone is safe.

I was thinking about you Lori! Glad you did not have much trouble. Me, well, it seems we were in a tiny pocket where we did not sustain much damage and never lost electricity. Small limbs down and things scattered everywhere, but it was really unnerving - we had frequent gusts up to 50 mph all night long. Many here still do not have power and frankly it is a mess. Snow and blizzards we can take, but not the other things that went with Sandy. Other members were right smack in the middle in NJ.

All is well in Maryland! A rough night... praying for our friends in NJ and NY... looks as if they got the brunt of the storm.... :(

Glad to hear from you Terry and Misty that you are both well. We'll be anxiously awaiting updates from our other members. Some may be without power, if so hope they'll get it back soon.
I agree high winds are incredibly scary!

So when I went looking for what organizations were helping animals in the wake of the Hurricane, I came across some good sites and what they are doing.

Make a Disaster Plan for Pets
http://www.humanesociety.org/issues/animal_rescue/tips/pets-disaster.html

Humane Society Deploys
http://www.humanesociety.org/news/dispatch/2012/10/hurricane-sandy-103112.html

American Humane Association Deploys 82 foot rig and storm crews
http://www.americanhumane.org/about-us/newsroom/news-releases/keeping-pets-safe-during.html

The local rescue organizations are on the ground already and you can find any that need help and what they are doing with a google search for "local animal rescue hurricane sandy".

Just a little something to get you started and warm the heart.

Hugs,
Sharlene and Molly Muffin
