Hi Ellie's Mom,

I am so glad you found your way here, your brief post reminds me of me when I just cant talk:):)

Take a deep breath, and slow down. Tell us what blood test you are waiting for the results of. Have any other tests been done? How old is your Ellie? Any information helps and we are here, patiently waiting to listen, calmly waiting to help in any way.

It will be okay.

OMG! She's a doll! I just love wild-haired dogs! :D

I am assuming she is having either the LDDS, which is an all day test, or the ACTH, which is 2-4 hours long. When you get the results, be sure to post them here in Ellie's thread. The more information you can provide, the better feed-back we can offer. ;) To that end, we play 20 Questions. :D

How old is Ellie?

How much does she weigh?

Does she have any other health issues that you are aware of?

Is she on any other meds? If so, what and what for?

Is she on any herbs, supplements, etc? If so, what and what for?

What prompted the testing for Cushing's in the first place?

Like Addy said, just take a deep breath and relax. You are in good hands here. Cushing's will scare you to pieces at first but most pups, like my Squirt, do just fine with treatment. Of course, there are those who read the rule book then after reading build a bon-fire with it and do as they dang well please!:p Either way, you have found a great group of folks who have knowledge and experience they are more than happy to share and unbeatable support. Never hesitate to ask questions; we will do our best to help you understand. What we can't answer, we will all try to learn together. ;)

Hugs,
Leslie and the gang

Hi and welcome. I agree, everyone comes to this forum scared to death. Knowledge though is your best defense and offense. You need both with this disease. Leslie and Addy have good questions, weight, what tests, what results. What can you tell us about your cute little Ellie?

Hi there!
I just wanted to welcome you and Ellie to the forum. As others have mentioned, the more information you can give us, the better we can help. We were all scared and worried when we found our way here, but you have found a wonderful group of supportive people to help and guide you. We look forward to hearing more from you!

Hi and welcome to you and Ellie!!!:):)

I can see you have been welcome by many of us. Leslie has asked you to post any information you have on tests and more.

Everyone here on the forum are wonderful and helping!!!:) So keep asking questions no matter what it is because you will feel better with as much info as you can get.

I do remember my Maddie having the darker pigment and the bony head. At first I didn't know why she looked so different, but when I read the symptoms of Cushings it made sense. She was always looking for food; there were times I thought I had not feed her because she gave me a look as to why haven't you feed me as she was surrounding her bowl with her paws looking up at me.:p

Take care and hang in there--you are family now!!!

How is Ellie doing? Did you get the blood panel results back?
