Lay or Lie- Need help from teachers

Okay, calling all teachers:D:D:D

which is correct?

She lied on the floor in front of the glass door, her beloved dog at her side.

or

She lay on the floor in front of the glass door, her beloved dog at her side.


We desperately need the correct verb lay or lie.

I always know I can come to our family for anything;););):D:D

Addy, I believe "lied" means that your told a falsehood. To recline on something is lay, past tense would be "laid". At least I think that's right.

Lay, laid, laid (to place)

the weird thing is lay is present tense (to place) and past tense (to recline):confused::confused:

Only in the ENGLISH LANGUAGE:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

the only reason I found it is becuase when I googled this thread came up and another one with the tenses.

The past tense of lie is lay, so
