This is so heartbreaking, but worse than that is the vet did not let them know of any of the side effects BEFORE giving the shot. And it came back on the market. If only....
That is why is our duty and incredibly important that we ask questions and be our dog's voice. I drill my vet and he expects it.

This really scares me. Over the last 10 years all of my dogs have been getting a yearly heartworm injection along with their other yearly vaccinations. No warnings from the vet and I always thought it was okay.
This is a little comment on it.
A similar product, ProHeart® SR 12, which contains approximately
3 times the amount of moxidectin as ProHeart 6 and provides 12 months of protection is
registered and marketed in Australia since October 2000.

Where we are living now isn't a high incident area for heartworm but I want to be prepared if we travel with them. I will have to look into how long the tablets need to be given to give coverage etc.
