Hi everyone- my 10 year old brittany has just been diagnosed with Cushings - I just got off the phone with our Vet and they would like to do an MRI to determine whether it is a macro or micro adenoma on her pituitary gland. If Maco - which she kinda suspects Emma has - they would do radiation for one week to shrink. has anyone dealt with a macro vs. micro adenoma? I am so worried!

Hi and welcome to you and Emma! :)
WOW! Starting out thinking this may be a macro tumor is tough. What makes you and your vet feel this is a possibility? What signs are you seeing that would indicate the tumor is large? It is not common for these pituitary tumors to grow to a size to be qualified as macro so before you go to the expense of an MRI, tell us what is going on with your sweet girl. The more details the better - we LOVE details! :D Please post the actual results of the testing on Emma so far - the blood labs as well as the Cushing's tests (hopefully there has been more than one?). Include the units of measurement (ug/dl, mnol/l, etc) that accompany the values as well as the normal ranges for each value.
I can well imagine how terrified you are thinking this is a macro but you are in good hands here. If, IF, it does turn out to be a macro, we have some members who have been there and will hopefully be chiming in if needed.
The most important thing I can tell you right now is this - you and Emma are not alone. We will be here to walk every step of the way with you. Never hesitate to ask questions and we will do our best to help you understand - or we will all learn together. We are a family here and I am very glad that you and your sweet Emma have joined us.
Hang in there!
Hugs,
