Three months ago Rubybwas commonly mistaken for a puppy, even though she is ten years old. Today, she looks like she is 20, and on he last legs. She refuses to walk, doubled in weight, and finally, has been diagnosed with Cushings. She will start medication tomorrow. Can someone here tell me what to expect in the way of recovery? How long before she begins to improve? Is there a special diet which I can give her that will speed recovery? Thanks for support.

Hi and welcome to you and Ruby!
So sorry for the circumstances that brought you here but glad you found us.
If you could get copies of all test/s that were done on Ruby and post any abnormalities here, that would help us to provide you with more meaningful feedback. Also, what medicine did the vet rx for the Cushing's and what dosage was rx'd? How much does Ruby weigh? Is she on any other herbs/supplements/medicines? Any other health issues?
Please know we will help in any way we can, so do not hesitate to ask any and all questions.
Love and hugs,
Lori

Welcome to you and Ruby. So sorry for the reasons you are here but you have come to the right place. The members here are fantastic and they will get you through this and answer your questions. To help do this you need to post Rubys history and Rubys bloodwork and any other testing that was done. With this info the members can get a better picture of what's going on to give you the best advice. Hang in there.....we will get you through this:)
Hugs xoxo
