I am posting this message here in hopes of getting some support for a petition I feel is worth signing. The Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (The Act) defines food as: "The term ‘food’ means (1) articles used for food or drink for man or other animals, (2) chewing gum, and (3) articles used for components of any such article." Section 201 (f). Despite Federal law, the FDA provides the pet food/animal food industry with loopholes to violate The Act; these loopholes are known officially as Compliance Policies. This petition asks to change that. I hope you will find a few minutes to support it. Remember the phrase, someone can't do everything, but everyone can do something.
I DO NOT wish to start any sort of food debate, as I believe there are plenty of other outlets for that on other websites. :cool:
