Happy Anniversary to Our Little Bauble!!!

It has been a year since Trinket was placed in my arms by her Mama Glynda; a glorious, amazing, wonderful year! :D The pure joy this little girl has brought to my world is unbelievable. She has taught me so much about determination, courage, and acceptance. Trinket faces her dark world daily with these strengths and loves every second of her life in spite of her "handicap". And love? Oh, my! Trink just oozes love! I can't even describe the feeling I get when she crawls up on my chest at night and tucks her little head under my chin, wanting to be loved on...which she, of course, gets! :p Or how happy it makes me when she wants to play, something she didn't know how to do at first.

I have had many blessings in my life, but being allowed to be Trinket's forever Mom is one I am most grateful for. Glynda, thank you again and again for selecting me. Trink and I love you dearly!

My sweet, sweet Leslie.

I can't believe it's been a year. It seems like only yesterday I was frantically trying to find a vet who could remove Trinket's eyeballs asap. Does that sound awful or what? :eek: Little did I know that you would step up to the plate with your generous donation and an offer to share your life with her. I can't even tell you how high my heart soared that day nor can I tell you how blown away I was when you told me you would drive all the way from Arkansas to Show Low to get your little girl.

Placing Trinket in your arms was a bittersweet moment for me. The waterworks started the minute I saw you two together. I knew Trinket finally had a mom who would never let anything bad happen to her again but I won't lie...it hurt like heck handing her over. It's never easy to say goodbye to any of my babies but it was particularly hard to let Trinket go. She is one of very few who will always hold a piece of my heart.

Who would have thunk the next blind baby to steal my heart would be headed for Arkansas too. :D If anybody deserves a thank you, it is you, Leslie. God bless you for giving Trink and Brick a second chance at life and a first chance to know what it's like to matter to a human, to be loved by a human and truly cared for by a human. Despite the abuse and neglect Trink and Brick endured at the hands of humans, they not only didn't hold a grudge, they gave us another chance to make it right.
