hi new to this site (11 y/o Min Pin) Trilostane

i have a min pin that just turned 11 and i was wondering any information anyone can help me with she just been diginosed about three weeks she been going for the blood test on her fourth to se if 10mg or 15mg would lower her count she is on trilostane has any ones dog been on for long time ?:confused:

Hi and welcome to our site. I am sorry your little min pin has been diagnosed.

When you get the chance post the test results that were performed to diagnose Cushing's.

Also, when the results come back from the blood test on the 4th, post these too. This test will be an ACTH test.

I just wanted to welcome you and let you know you have come to the right place. The members here are all so very nice and knowledgeable.. I can't offer alot of information because I'm still learning. I can tell you what I do know. The more information you give the better. Tell the age, weight and symptoms your pet is having. Post all lab work and results. Once your pet is on medication you have to watch and monitor very closely. You know your pet better than anybody. If something does not look right call the vet or come to this site. I think they know alot more than alot of vets, because they have been there and done it all when it comes to cushings. Learn all you can about cushings because you pet needs your voice now. The worst thing you can do is to do nothing. Cushings is treatable and once controlled your pet will be fine.

Hi and Welcome from me and my pup Zoe.

Sorry to hear about the Cushing diagnosis. My first reaction when I heard the news was to spend days searching the internet crying the whole time. It gets easier the more you learn and less scary though I will be honest there can be ups and downs.

My Zoe has been on Trilostane since June and is doing well. I know of some pups that have been on the drug for 4 years. Terri's Corky has been on it for 2.5, I think.

The more you can tell us the better.
