My Westie is suddenly having 'peeing' accidents all the time. From small to large puddles, no blood & no whimpering when she goes.
I let her out to go all the time. She has no other symptoms and seems as happy & playful as always. Any ideas as there has been no change in her life. Any help would be appreciated & thanks!

Hi and welcome to you and your baby! :)
The sudden loss of house training can be an indicator of many things, including Cushing's. Hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, diabetes, and UTI come to mind right off the bat. If she hasn't had a complete chem panel and thyroid panel done recently, then that is where I would start. Diabetes can pop up seemingly overnite. ;)
Is this the only change you have noticed lately? What color is the urine? Any strong odor? Is your babies appearance the same? Appetite the same? Temperature tolerances the same? Sleep pattern the same? Interaction with family still the same?
Does she have any knows illnesses? Is she on any meds, supplements or herbs? Some times a side effect can be more frequent urination and loss of control. How old is your baby?

Corky and I also want to welcome the both of you.
Leslie gave you some good options as to why this might be happening. My first thought was also a UTI. I hope you'll be able to find out the cause of the accidents.

Hi and Welcome,
I am wondering why you thought of Cushings as the possible problem if there are no other symptoms? Maybe there is something else going on with your Westie?
Sometimes our first reaction is denial of symptoms. I know I talked myself about of Zoe's symptoms in the beginning.
We are here to help you anyway we can.
Hugs,
Addy

What has your vet mentioned about this? The others have given good advice on the possibilities. I would check for a UTI (urinary tract infection).
Is your pup drinking large amounts of water too?

Before my Jenny was diabetic, and before I realized she had Cushings, she started having the accidents which my vet said is common with older spayed females.
She is on a hormone that is working for it.
We were hoping once we got her Cushings under control she could go off the hormone but right now she needs it.
With this problem she pees in her sleep or just standing there. She loses control. Hope you find some answers!
