Checking in" is a topic that we start on the first of each month. We suspect that we have a good number of members who read the messages regularly but who don't post very often. Maybe that's because their dogs are doing well, or they don't have a Cushing's dog anymore, or they haven't got any questions to ask, or maybe they don't feel very comfortable about posting answers to other members' questions. It's perfectly understandable and acceptable for folks to only post once in a while, but when we don't hear from people, many of us find ourselves wondering what those folks have been up to recently and how their dogs are doing.

It's always preferable to post updates about your Cushing's dog in your own thread/topic (especially if you want feedback/replies from other members) but you can also post a quick reply here if you just want to say hi and let everyone know how you are doing in general.

We'd love to hear from you! :)

Bagel and I are checking in....

School is OUT finally and I am loving being home with her...

Cushings diagnosed 2 yrs 3 months ago
diabetes 2 years

doing very well- lost 10 pounds with PURINA DCO after diabetes was diagnosed but she needed to- and has maintained it for over a year..
Something about two meals a day no snacks..hmm

She will prob never regulate to those low blood scores we all dream of...but being Cushinoid has it's quirks...She has cataracts but still sees well. We are going for QUALITY of life and we have been very blessed this year.

Today her back legs are very weak so I gave her 2 baby aspirin like I used to when she wasn't so thin...HOPING that will help. In the summer I keep the condo COOL for her but she insists on lying on the cool linoleum floor which is on a slab. So I think it makes her hips hurt.

We enjoy our morning stroll- she has a dog buggy and I get my exercise as we go all over our neighborhood places.See our album.

She is 11.5 yrs old and still, as always, the JOY of my life! We are on the K9 diabetes forum- but always good to come back where we first started!

Hello. Sophia - my 9 year old Boxer is doing very well on her meds. It has been almost a year since she was diagnosed with Cushings. She is on compounded Trilostane as well as sotalol (for her heart issue). She lost a little bit of weight but it might be due to the weather and being able to walk her alot more and she is constantly running in the yard. We have her scheduled for follow up tests in the next month just to check her levels. So far so good.

Thanks - Jason
