I know that none of us can relate to anybody that would abandon their dog or cat for any reason but it happens at least a thousand times a day across this country. If you, your family or your friends are looking for a furry buddy to love and share your life with, please remember the shelter dogs and cats who need somebody to love them again.

"I have a dream...."
I dream of a day when all those cages are empty, when there are no Trinkets or Bricks discarded, when mankind values all life and treats it accordingly.
It is the hardest part for me. That Zoe came out of Animal Control and I promised her nothing bad would ever happen to her again and then she got sick after only thee short years of being my beloved.
I remember the smell of Animal Control. I could not get it out of my nose for a week. Her anxiety to get out of there, the circling and running to the door, her licking Amy's hand and curling into a ball on Amy's car seat after a huge sigh as she fell asleep on her ride to me.
Her crying in the car as we turned off the highway. She knew houses, ears forward, looking out the front window becoming animated as we drove nearer and nearer to home. Her joy as we went into the house.
If you have never experienced that, you indeed have missed out on something beautiful.
Koko came to us the same way and if there is a dog number 3, I know where I will find him/her.
They are not 'used' dogs or "second hand" dogs; they are dogs that need a break through no fault of their own. I believe in the saying there are no bad dogs, just bad "owners". Not that I call myself an "owner" for I don't own my dogs. I share my life with them.
Thank you Gylnda and Leslie for the reminder of those who need saving. If we could only save them all.
Love,
Addy

Addy you brought a tear to my eye when you said you are not a dog owner but that you share your life with them - it is so true.
Glynda I cannot open that link because it breaks my heart that I cannot take any more dogs because of Casey's age. I wish I could have ten. I see your posts and there are so many shelter dogs where you are - we only have 5 or 6 at any one time and we are lucky in that they are all adopted in time - the little ones don't even make it to the website - they are gone that day.
My mom's little dog died in November and I wish I could go to California and get one of those shelter dogs for her. She wants a puppy. . . I still am trying to get her a shelter dog but they just are not available here in the Canadian north.
I admire all of you for the work you do with the shelter dogs. God bless,

Ellen,
Two of those teeny California babies have made it all the way to Arkansas. I bet we could get one to Canada....;) There are Doggy Angels who fly and drive all over the place to get pups to their forever homes. Transports can be arranged! :D;) From CA, from anywhere on the continent. Some of these babies are being taken from CA to the east coast where they have a better chance of being adopted so check the states over there and close to the Canadian border, too. If you find one you want, let it be known. The logistics of getting that baby to you and your mom can be worked out! ;)
