Stuck with Vetoryl 60 mg

Can anyone tell me if it's illegal to sell Vetoryl on a site like Craigslist? My vet changed my dog's prescription from 90 mg to 30 mg and now I'm stuck with the box of 60 mg, where only 4 of the 30 were used.

Unfortunately, in the U.S. it is illegal to sell or transfer prescription medication between individuals. So no, you will not be able to offer your Vetoryl for sale on any internet website (including here at k9cushings.com).

It may be possible for you to locate a compounding pharmacy in your community that would be willing to "repackage" your current 60 mg. capsules into 30 mg. capsules for your own dog's use. However, price-wise, it may or may not be worth it to you -- depending upon what the pharmacy would charge you for the repackaging.

Aside from your left-over Vetoryl, we would love to learn more about your Roxy, however. :) So anything that you would care to share with us about her diagnosis and treatment would be great!

You might also consider donating the 60mg to your vet or to a shelter for those who cannot afford the drug. Folks are always appreciative of help like this! ;)
