Before you begin the medication, please tell us more about your dog, the testing etc. What drugs were you given? Did you get detailed instructions on giving it and what to do in an emergency?
I'm asking all of this because sometimes people rush to start a drug before everything is in order and there really is no need to rush. It is better to understand the disease, the drug, and know what you will do if there are any complications with the drug. (afterhours, reactions etc)
You are smart to ask for information. Please tell us more about your dog and how you ended up with the cushings diagnosis.
Sorry if I am rushed... I am at lunch. I will check in later tonight. Glad you found us!! Kim

Lynn, I was just in your shoes 2 months ago. This is a wonderful site and full of very knowledgeable people. There will be a lot of questions asked, and it can get overwhelming. The more information we have the better we can answer your questions. What I have learned is that Cushings can be a well managed disease and our pups can live a happy life.
What meds were you prescribed for the Cushings, how much and what does your pup weigh? What tests were preformed to give you the diagnosis and what were the results?
Lots of love and hugs,

Hi lynn,
I also wanted to welcome you and your pup. You have been given some good advice. There is no rush, cushings takes a while to do it's damage. We just want to be sure your pup was properly diagnosed as we have seen misdiagnosis before. We also want be sure your vet has instructed you properly on singa to watch for and proper testing follow up, which is all important.
Looking forward to hearing more about you pup.

Hi Lynn,
I too am new in the last 3 months. Everyone here is very supportive and have sooooo much knowledge. My dog is Maddie, the Aussie. She is 11.5 yrs. old and I had to figure out what was wrong. Ask lots of questions here and you will get the right answers. I have since changed vets because the last one thought they knew what they were doing, but they really didn't, so I am in the process of reloading on Lysodren.
Be calm and learn as much as you can to understand all of your options.
Take care!!!
