I should have posted my dedication to Harley here, also. So here we go:
Since Harley came to live with me from rescue, I don't exactly know when his birthday is. He was adopted in March, so I have always told him that he & I share the same birthday. He came to his forever home at about 10 months old, & has been hanging out for 14 years. He was originally my Mom's boy, & he filled a huge place in the heart of a very lonely little lady who was suffering from the ravages of Alzheimer's.

Here's to you my little old man, what you did for your 1st Mom, & what you do for me every day!

Scott, you are very welcome & I enjoy doing it! Thanks to everyone who has posted to the "little snot". He has had a good day. I don't think the car ride last night was that big a thrill as it was a total change from the usual routine, & all he did for most of the time we were out was whine & complain.:rolleyes::eek:

I wanted to add one other thing about the connection of the heart that Harley had with my mother. Once her Alzheimer's was so bad that she could no longer call me by name. I think she still recognized me as someone familiar to her because she would always get a big smile on her face when I went to see her. Mom knew her boy until the day she passed. He was her little "black & white gentleman", & she was always delighted to see him. I, along with other family members, would just laugh, shake our heads, & comment that she may not know any of us but she is going to know her dog until the day she dies. It still amazes me what a connection a pet can make to their person that they can even break through the fog & mental deterioration of Alzheimer's.
