Hey Jeanette,
Stopping by to say hi back at you:D:D:D:D took me awhile to find your thread:(:(:(
Hope you and Princess are hanging in there. Did the socks help her elbows?
Im guessing your girl is still off her trilo:):) I need to stim Zoe but was kind of waiting with this eye thing to play out.
I hope you get a break from the heat though the forecast seems to say storms heading your way. Temperature finally dropped into the 70's now and it is misting. Koko and I just stood outside enjoying the feeling of the mist. I dont know if all my plants will ever recover from this drought. i cant keep everything watered, we have 2 acres:rolleyes: and a well that I am not sure of how deep it is:eek:
Im telling you Oh Pioneers is really getting old around here and the cat that was leaving mouse parts around my yard awhile back, well, he is BACK:eek: and there are mouse parts in the road:eek::eek:
Did you see on the news the poor man tried to help his stray cat and the cat bit him and he now has the Black Plaque???:eek:
OMG!!!!!
Okay, done whining:D:D:D:D;);)

Awww Addy,
Princess is still off the Vetoryl, going on 2 months. I'm not complaining, and as along as she has no symptoms, no stims on this end, and not to sound like a downer, I sense it won't be long before I will be posting her post no. AGAINNNNNN!:D Ughhhhhh.
Unfortunately, my girl woke up today limping real badly, and cannot stand on one of her hind legs, and she fell back at the bottom stairs trying to go up....grrrrrrrrrr.... so here we go again. I know I need to address this as it can be something orthopedic, but just do not have the funds right now. As I told a very dear friend, I may just need to stand on some dark corner soon to pay for vet bills, haaaaaaaaa, only thing is that it will get very lonely on that corner cause no one will stop. LOL.:D
I have given her a morning dose of Rimadyl to see if that makes a difference. It could also be stiffness from arthritis. Really stinks to see them this way.:(
I did not hear about that cat incident, but OMG, that's just awful for that poor man, and sooo unfair, really!
BTW, these weather people can't ever get it right. The storms we were expecting for yesterday, are here today which just messes up my whole schedule. LOL.. I knew I should've studied meteorology, and still get paid to get it WRONG...:D
I will try to do a rain dance for you guys. Droughts are awful. We went through that 2 years ago I believe. We have had lots of rain this year though and has also caused problems with our water well. grrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
I saw update on Zoe, and although I know not out of the woods yet, it's a little progress. Poor Zoe's eyes. My girl has issues with eyes too and needs to be on the tacrolimus drops for life. She gets gunk in them every single day too. I don't know Addy. We do our best, that's all.
Oh Addy, thanks so much for popping in--it's always so refreshing!
You take care of yourself and the babies and mom, and hang in there Baby Doll.
We love you dearly.
Tight hugs, xo Jeanette and my girl Princess

ps: Addy, yes, the dog leggs for Princess did the job for her hygroma. My IMS gave me that site dogleggs.com (yes, that's 2 gg's in legs). They seemed a bit tougher than the the dog socks, so went with them instead. they are great and keep her elbows protected all day. You should def. look into for Zoe since they have products for all conditions, to include paw licking, among other licking:D. lol.

Hello friends,
Wanted to quickly update on my girl. We don't want anyone to think we vanished into thin air, although at times the thought sounds nice:D. First off, Princess is still off Vetoryl (going on 3 months). WOW! I have been giving her Dasaquin joint support and Rimadyl on an as needed basis. I am still trying to gather funds to have her evaluated by an orthopedic and would like to get her X-rays for that back leg limping. one odd thing I have noticed which she started doing exactly 2.5 months go is that as she is walking, her poop just comes out. She doesn't do it each time she does her business but I think it is still strange of her not to squatt. has she lost control of her muscles perhaps due to arthritis? Other than this she is eating well, pooping nicely and wants to play. in the water department I can't say she drinks much which I also find strange considering the extreme heat we have been having. Not peeing too much either.
So this is it. She is due for a stim this month but have decided to use the funds for orthopedic issue instead since she is not being treated for the coshings right now. Make sense?
Hope all well with everyone and your babies and families.
love and tight hugs always.
Jeanette and my sweet Princess
makes sense to me:):):)
Did you have a pony move in next door? Maybe Princess learned a new way to poo from watching ponies. Could be something easier to that, walking and pooping instead of squatting.:D:D:D Maybe we should give it a go:eek::eek::eek: Really, I think we humans are way too serious and need to get in touch with our inner beast:p:p:p
Okay, I admit I am totally out of control and trying to make you laugh:D:D:rolleyes:;) This is what too much stress does to me:o:o
Actually, Zoe does that sometimes, will sometimes pee that way too. Usually it is when she is smelling around something really good and gets all worked up about it. Maybe it does hurt them to squat, those back legs are weak.

I took Kira to see a neurosurgeon. One of the things he asked me was does she walk while she poops? So possibly that could have something to do with her rear end, or her back legs as Addy suggested. Kira doesn't have that problem too much but she does poop a tiny bit when she sleeping. Which is also related to weaknesses in the rear end. It doesn't happen that often. There isn't a whole lot you can do. As long as she's going when and where she should, I wouldn't worry about it. Well that's not true either. I would worry about it. But there is nothing you can do, that you're not already doing. It's when they suddenly get up and go Pee on their dog pillow when you're sitting right there. This is when you worry!!

Yay, great news that Princess is still able to be off cushings meds.
Yep, sounds like a hind end kind of problem. Why do all our babies end up with rear end issues of one kind or another.
Addy, not sure about that human pooping while walking business. Sounds kind of messy to me!! Ponies being lovely animals and all but still...!!!!!:eek:

LMBUTTO Addy,
you certainly accomplished to make me laugh with that one, and although I do agree with one thing humans need to embrace our inner beast at times, we would probably be a heck of a lot mellow and at peace than one big stress ball most of the times. but on the other hand, I gotta agree with Sharlene in the walking and pooping part, quite embarrassing and messy, and no one wants to clean up my messes. Lol. Nice try though.
Janis, thanks for your input. I really feel Princess may be developing some form of dementia. don't know why but at times she seems a bit off and disoriented. Not always but sometimes. Sucks getting old. But who the heck knows what can be going on with these babies. So hard. They need to breed the "talking dog" soon cause it will be easier for us. Haaaaaaaaaaa. Hey, you never know.
Thanks again to Addy and Sharlene for the great laugh.

Hello friends/furbabies,
My sweet Princess is going on almost 5 months of another trilo break. She has been doing well. Since we all know things can change at any given time and before we go down that road again, I was wondering if anyone would recommend I perform a full adrenal panel on my girl. There has always been some doubt in my mind for not having it done prior to starting her initial treatment, and knowing she has become highly senstive to trilo I do not know if knowing more on her intermediates would change the course of treatment for my girl if and when we get there again?
As always, thanking you for your help, support and friendship for me and my girl.
Warmest regards and tight hugs to all.

Hi Jeanette,
Good to hear that Princess is doing well on her "vacation". :D
If you are planning to stick with Trilo, I wouldn't waste my money on the adrenal panel. Not sure I would regardless, but if you are going to stick with the Trilo knowing if the intermediates are elevated will mean less than they would if using Lyso because the Trilo has been shown to elevate those hormones while Lyso lowers most of them. To learn they are elevated while she has been off the Trilo this long then to restart the Trilo would simply be additional cause for worry to me - you may not react that way, but I would. So, ignorance can be a blessing. ;):D
Hugs,
Leslie and the gang
Hey dear friend, we have opposite problems, Princess needs too little Trilo and Zoe needs too much;):D
Why do you think you should check? What do you hope it will clarify? Do you think if her intermediates are highly elevated that makes her not able to tolerate the Trilo? I am just trying to follow your train of thought.:D:D:D:D:D

Hi Leslie and Addy,
Sorry if maybe I didn't intepret my thoughts correctly. Let's see, 3 years ago prior to and during Princess's initial treatment on Vetoryl, I know the full adrenal panel was highly recommended many a times here, and I even suggested to IMS, but she steered me away from it. Maybe I have this all wrong, but somehow I developed a certain doubt in believing if perhaps something was missed, and wonder to this day if my girl in fact has a pituitary tumor, or an adrenal even though her acth was consistent with PDH. Would the panel confirm an adrenal tumor, and even if it was adrenal I know certain few still treat with trilostane, however, I am scared to keep putting my girl through this over and over, and she ends up sensitive to the trilo each and every time.
I hope all this makes sense cause it sure doesn't to me. LOL..:D Again, perhaps my memory doesn't serve right. I mean it's only been 3 years..
Sorry for the confusion from the usual confused moi.
Love ya gals.

ps: to Leslie, Yes, my sweet Leslie "ignorance is bliss", most of the time, but ugh, right now I'm all for knowing the facts on my girl.
ps: to Addy, amazing how different these drugs work on all dogs. ive got a horsie 70lbs and can't tolerate the darn drug, and you've got a peanut 10 pounder and she needs mega dose....Really! come on now..:confused::confused::confused:

Ok, the adrenal panel, what we call the UTK panel, will not distinguish between PDH and ADH. All it does is look at the intermediate hormones and the cortisol.
The LDDS in some cases, the HDDS, and the ultrasound can help determine if an adrenal tumor is present or if PDH, a pituitary tumor, is the correct diagnosis for Princess. Trilostane IS used to treat adrenal Cushing's, ADH, because the drug can be used at a much higher dose than Lysodren in most pups and the higher doses are often needed to address ADH if surgery isn't an option or it is not feasible for whatever reason.
I would seriously doubt that Princess has an adrenal tumor since she goes for so long with no meds and no signs. It looks to me as if she is just super sensitive to Trilo....or there is always the possibility the diagnosis is wrong.
Hope this helps,
Hugs,

Hi again Leslie,
Thanks for clearing that up for me. I always knew that UTK panel checks the intermediates and cortisol, but I had a brain gas trying to remember if it also confirmed if a dog had an adrenal tumor because I read so much on atypical cushings, specially from you, so wasn't sure honestly. Now I know it does not.
As far as a wrong diagnosis, do you mean as in Princess not having cushings at all? Yikes, but how do we explain her overt symptoms: drinking, appetitie, peeing buckets, muscle wasting, panting, looking for cool places, and her high cortisol on her stims? I know hypothyroidism can be another concern with same symptoms, but as far as we know she was tested and that was ruled out. Besides, would a dog with hypothyroidism have high cortisol levels? What else would be going on if not cushings or low thyroid?
Thanks again.
xo Jeanette

I didn't mean to imply I thought the diagnosis is wrong - just that it is a possibility. Any number of things can cause the cortisol to be elevated and cause false-positives on the testing - but you know that. It is just really odd to me that Princess takes such a low dose of Trilo then ends up with the cortisol too low followed by an extended vacation from treatment.

10-08-2012, 09:25 AM
Oh Leslie,
I knew exactly what you meant Baby Doll, but of course the possibility of her not having cushings is certainly a bit disturbing for me because she has had all the classic symptoms of cushings, so if not cushings what then? This is why I thought the adrenal panel may have helped in dertermining some other unanswered questions, but you clarified that for me. I guess I will just have to chaulk it up to her being highly sensitive to the trilo, and off the top of my head I cant remember if there were a couple here whose babies were in the same boat with the trilo--my girl is certainly a mystery when it comes to Vetoryl, and I may never really get all the answers I need. I got to thinking also, if and when we need to restart treatment, would Anipryl be a safer alternative to consider on my girl vs. the Vetoryl? I have read a lot here it is not as effective on some dogs, but who knows maybe that is just what my girl may need?:confused::confused:
Thank you for your thoughts always and not holding back on them. I like to hear it like it is.

Mornin' sweetie,
Anipryl helped Squirt for about 9 months but her signs were very mild, primarily panting, loss of interest in life around her, and withdrawing / hiding...and she is an exception to the rule about the effectiveness of this drug. If I remember correctly, Anipryl cost more to use than the Lyso does per month - seems like it was $89/mo for a bottle of the liquid form. The Lyso costs us around $20/mo to use...remember she only weighs 15lbs and only gets two pills a month. ;)
The side effects of Anypril are much milder that either Lyso or Trilo but you swap effectiveness for the lessor effects. If Princesses signs are mild, you might try a month of the Anipryl (generic name Selegiline). If I were you, I would think about either restarting on a much lower dose than ever before, or talk about switching to Lyso - I can't remember if you have considered that and rejected it for some reason(s)...or even if you have already tried it. And I'm too lazy this morning to go look. :o:p
We did have some members with uber-sensitive babies like Princess but I can't remember who. Seems like some of them came on around the same time as ya'll...but that memory thing is in the way, ya know, CRS? ;)
Perhaps Princess just needs to lick a pill every day and not swallow the whole thing. WOW - think of the money that would save! :D:p:D Of course, capsules would present a problem with this approach.:D

Hi Jeanette,
If and when Princess starts to show symptoms again, I personally wouldn't waste money on Anipryl as it is almost certain that it will do little to nothing in resolving symptoms. Dr. Bruyette, the developer of Anipryl admits that he only uses it if symptoms are very mild or when a pet owner cannot afford the cost of bloodwork necessary to monitor conventional treatment. Otherwise, Vetoryl is his treatment of choice. As long as Princess isn't giving you any reason to worry about treatment, enjoy the holiday.
When I took Lulu off Trilostane, it took her several months to become symptomatic again. For her, there was a direct correlation between symptoms and a high post stimulated cortisol. Her post stim was 25 ug/dl when she finally started to show symptoms again.
I'm not sure you know this but Lulu has been off of Lysodren for over a year. Her last post stim three or four months ago was 8.2 ug/dl. It hadn't moved since her last stim nine months before that. I think it's time for another stim for her though because she is showing more and more symptoms.

Hi again Leslie,
To refresh your memory, my girl has never been on Lyso. I had asked my IMS way back when if we would be able to consider it, but she explained they no longer treated with Lyso due to "too many dogs lost while on it" (and those were her exact words), so even if I would consider switching I am stuck right now without having an IMS who treats with it.
As for the Anipryl I guess I will toss that idea after all if it is going to be a waste of time and money, but thanks for your input.
I guess I will just worry about all this once we get there again, and do as Glynda suggests and "enjoy this holiday", which I truly have been--such pleasure watching my girl engaged, bouncing around and happy.:)
Thanks again Leslie, always lovely to hear from you.

Glynda hi,
Yes, you did mention Lulu's long vacation--that is amazing! Who wouldnt welcome that right? Princess's last post stim no. in May was 7.2 on 10mg, and they considered that low. I suppose no sense in doing another stim any time soon if shes ok.
One last question, I know it is not proper protocol, but could I possibly consider doing 10mg every other day once I need to restart her treatment vs. daily dosing? Have you ever seen this done on other dogs who seem to be sensitive to treatment, like my girl?
Thank you for chiming in too. Hope you are doing better and will check on you soon.
Love ya doll. xo xo Jeanette

Hi Jeanette,
I know we have had other members whose vets prescribed every other day dosing. I believe Sonja's Apollo was on every other day dosing at one time. Because of Trilostane's short half life, I'm not so sure that every other day dosing will effectively control cortisol. I've not read anything suggesting that this is an acceptable treatment protocol so if this is something you may want to try in the future, you should talk to your IMS. I know that your IMS is not receptive to your suggestions but if she pooh-poohs the idea, perhaps you can ask her to contact Dechra to see if this is something they would recommend.
Trilostane IS used to treat adrenal Cushing's, ADH, because the drug can be used at a much higher dose than Lysodren in most pups and the higher doses are often needed to address ADH if surgery isn't an option or it is not feasible for whatever reason.
While I don't think Princess has an adrenal tumor, according to one study, dogs with adrenal tumors tend to be more sensitive to Trilostane. Conversely, adrenal tumors are highly resistant to Lysodren so it usually takes extremely high doses to get cortisol levels down within the therapeutic range of 1 - 5 ug/dl. We're talking 75mg to 100mg per kilogram so wow, that would scare the heck out of me and I can certainly see why prednisone may be prescribed concurrently to offset side effects during the loading phase. Vetoryl (Trilostane), an enzyme blocker, on the other hand, has a completely different mode of action and again, according to at least one study, there is no need to deviate from the normal dosing protocol for dogs with an adrenal tumor. I've not used California Pet Pharmacy but I've been shopping for Vetoryl because I've not made a decision as to which treatment I'm going to choose for Lulu when we start treatment. The best I've found is at Allivet.com. 30 ct 30mg Vetoryl for 44.99. Plus you get reward points with every purchase.
http://www.allivet.com/p-2590-vetoryl-capsules-30-ct.aspx
I also found out that KMart now has pet drugs and their 30 count is $59.99. That's comparable to most online prices, plus shipping. I've run out of meds once before and was scrambling to get a refill so knowing that KMart is open 7 days a week, it would be great in a pinch.

Hello friends,
It has been 6 months, and my sweet girl is still off Vetoryl. Wow! As much as I am soaking all this up and enjoying every single second, the back burner is still going thinking why certain babies go on these vaca's from these drugs? I hate to question all of it, but still:confused: and wonder if NOT treating her is causing any internal damage at the same time? Do I stim her even though she is NOT showing symptoms, or do I wait this out a bit longer and until those ugly symptoms return? If and when, do I do a baseline cortisol or a complete pre and post ACTH? I would think baseline since she is not being monitored on the Vetoryl, but what the heck do I know?
other than this, we survived hurricane Sandy with some damage to our roof, fence and little ones playground set destroyed and some power loss, but very blessed compared to our friends and some relatives in the Jersey shore and New York City. this has been by far the most devastating of storms to hit the northeast, and it doesn't seem to be letting up as we are expecting yet a nor'easter tomorrow into Thursday. Ughhhhhhh.
I love you all and your babes. Be well.

yay, glad the damage was low and bearable at least, but mainly that you are all okay. That was scary and this nor'easter business needs to just go away, move on out, don't stop here. LOL
I don't know. A cushings break is kind of nice. Maybe just get a blood panel done, see how that looks first, then decide if you want to take a look at an ACTH, baseline or regular. Probably baseline though would be the main one in your case.
Hugs,
Sharlene

Morning friends,
Was wondering if anyone can help me find the SEB recipe here. Leslie, I know you swear by it. My girl vomited last night with a bout of diarrhea. she seems to be ok this morning and wanted to eat, but I only gave her a bit of mushy rice. I would love to try the SEB but want to make sure I mix it correctly. Also, how much do I give and for how long? Don't know what can be going on with her. She is not on the Vetoryl so we can rule that out. I do give her Rimadyl and tramadol on an as needed basis, so wondering if that may be causing the problem, but would think not since it is not on a consistent basis. I do give her a joint support daily and wonder also if that could upset her stomach. Hard call?
thanks for anyone's help.

Jeanette,
Here's a URL to SEB instructions:
http://www.holvet.net/slippery_soup.html
Great - it is helping the ulcers! That is what happened with Annie.
1 tsp per cup of water - boil and then let cool .. keep in frig for up to 5 days. Give 2 TBS at a time.
I found this on Snoppy's thread but beagles probably weigh less then Princess so not sure if the dose is right.
So sorry Princess is under the weather, maybe it is just a bug. Probably fasting for 12- 24 hours is best, if you can do it. I followed this to some degree for Koko two weeks ago
If your pet has more than one isolated bout of vomiting &/or diarrhea, the first step towards treatment is to NPO him for 24 hours. This means nothing given orally, food or water. He can have some ice cubes to lick on, as they will provide fluids in extremely small amounts. After there has been no additional vomiting, start back on small amounts of water (pedialyte is OK), a few laps at a time, every 1-2 hours. If he continues to keep this down over the next 6 hrs, gradually increase the volume in one sitting. After keeping water down for 12 hrs, you can start back on small amounts of bland foods. These include cottage cheese, boiled rice, boiled chicken, lean browned ground turkey with the fat washed off, oat meal, scrambled egg, or prescription diets like I/D. Start with 1-2 tablespoons every 2 hours. After 6 hrs, increase to volume and decrease the intervals. A good goal for a 20 lb animal is 1/3 cup every 4-6 hours. If food stays down the next 24 hrs, feed up to 1/2
cup in 3 meals over the next 2 days. Start adding back regular diet mixed into the bland foods. If vomiting or diarrhea persist or if you see blood-seek veterinary
attention immediately.
It should take about 5 days to get back on regular food. Some pets take a little longer, depending on how irritated the gut was to start. If the vomiting/diarrhea continues longer than 24 hrs of NPO, if there is any blood, multiple episodes of vomiting (over 3-4) occur in a short time (30-45 mins), or if the pet is depressed or lethargic, then seek veterinary attention. Young pets less than 6 mos and older pets over 7 years are more likely to dehydrate quicker, so may need medical attention sooner, especially if there is an underlying disease, such as diabetes, kidney disease, etc. Most of the time, minor GI upsets will heal themselves if the gut is allowed to rest.
I did it for 12 hours and skipped the water part.
Love ya

I vary the thickness of the paste depending on the severity of the issue. If the diarrhea is pretty bad, the paste is thick - a true paste consistency. As the diarrhea improves, I thin the paste to a cream soup consistency until it is no longer needed. I find the thin tea works best for nausea or at the very first sign of colitis - tails or a shine.
Good luck! And let us know how it works for Princess.

Hi all,
Made boiled chicken and mashed potatoes and spiked it with the SEB. She has not had any other bouts of poopies or vomitting, and is very hungry, but I think I will stick to the bland diet for at least the rest of today to see how she makes out.
Thank you all again for being there.

Now I've got a question for anyone, perhaps ADDY since you've certainly had a lot experience with Zoe's constant eye problems. I just scheduled my girl for an gp appt for Thursday. She has always had something going on with those eyes of hers, but they seem to be getting worse, one more than the other. green mucusy gunk in them everyday. I clean them with saline and then do her tracolimus drops, but next day they are the same. last time her eyes got these bad, they put her on neomycin, polymyxin and dexamethasone suspension and worked great, but I know I read somewhere here I should steer away from any of the "mycins", but cant recall why? Will this affecther with the cushings? Either way, I feel she will need some type of antibiotic drop. Addy I don't know how you held up with Zoe's eyes being so awful. I feel for my girl just with this so feel even worse for the Zoe, and you. ughhhhh.
tight hugs to all and the babies.
Xo Jeanette and the "senior beauty" loll
Leslie will know for sure but I thought the "myacin" did not include eye drops and green mucus probably means infection. If you have something that worked before, I would use it again if it did not cause a problem for Princess.
They should probably test her tear production too. How often do you give her the Tacrilomus? Poor Zoe is on Tacrilomus BID and Cyclosporine 3 x a day. Now Koko is on eye drops as well:eek::rolleyes:
I'm sure our Princess will be just fine.
mypuppy
11-27-2012, 02:57 PM
Addy, I thought the same thing, infection. Thanks for posting. Princess is on the tracolimus BID also, for life. She does suffer from the dry eye syndrome, and has been on them for a few years. I definitely will request the antibiotic eyedrops they gave her last time, although that was quite a while back, so guessing they would have come up with something else, but if I can get the other ones I will.
Poor Zoe, so many drops and meds and the dreaded cushings....grrrrrr.. and now Koko wants to follow in sister's footsteps...ughhhh.
Take care of those babies and yourself, and how are your eyes lately? lol..
ps: need to share a funny today with someone: so after 17 years of marriage, I thought we had this his and hers thing downpacked, only to learn today from hubby, he has been using my toothbrush for weeks now.... Really! purple=hers / green=his... this explains my sore throat...:D....grrrrrrr..
Lol, maybe he did not want to tell you he's color blind:):):)
We could get hubby eye drops:D:D

Jeanette,
I will take you up on the offer of taking the dump truck up north and bringing it back down here. Even if it melts, at least we can have some water. We are in a drought here and the warm winters are helping much. Although, I actually woke up today and it was a balmy 40 degrees. But no need to fear for us, we are back in the 80's by the weekend. Whew....Enjoy the snow and the holiday season with your family.
Hey Girlfriend and Sweet Pea Princess:D:D:D:D
So the sling is a good thing. It will work great for you as Princess is tall. Mine does not have a name brand on it but it has fleecey stuff inside and is washable and goes around her middle (tummy) with two adustable buckles. Zoe's is so tiny that the handles are too short for me so I put her harness on underneath it and under her coat, then looped her leash throught the handles, she walked really good:D:D or she could have just been humoring me like "I better act like I am fine 'cause my crazy mummy has me all done up in this weird contraption":rolleyes:
Anywhooooo, if you get the sling that goes around their tummy, not the hind leg one, you may like it. I feel sooooooo much better:D:D
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow:D:D:D:D:D
Merry Ho Ho!!!!;)

Hi Addy,
Glad Zoe and mom are enjoying the new contraption...:D I actually finally went online today and found a tall/female size sling for my girl. Website: gingerlead.com
And yeah, Princess will definitely be looking at me as if I have 10 heads when I start using this thing on her. Wish it were not the case, but only way to get her upstairs without my back giving out:eek: I will still wish for an electric escalator this Christmas-- much easier for everyone involved. lolll.
Thanks for getting back to me, and again, glad you are both happy with the new gadget...

Golly! You gals are just wonderful honestly. I miss all the affection and love I got so easily used to receiving being here more often, but it's always such a blessing to know I can return and feel just as strongly about my family here. I love you ladies, thank you, Sharlene, Addy, Lori, all of you.
Yes, it has been on my mind constantly to give an update on my sweet Princess, so in a nutshell, she has been doing well. I am still dumbfounded about this long trilo break, but of course, not complaining. I obviously still have many unanswered questions, was she heading for a trilo crash back in May 2012?, is she highly sensitive to this drug (even on 10mg/daily)? will she be in remission even longer and never have to take Vetoryl? Will my lovely IMS manage to call me ever again to check up on her patient's health status considering a year has passed since we last spoke? Should I schedule an ACTH at this time or continue to wait it out until if and when symptoms return?
Aside from all these concerns my friends, Princess is enjoying life, a little slower with the hind leg arthritis, but somehow still manages to fetch her sticks and just lovessss lovessss her balls as always. Now that Spring is finally here we spend more time outdoors and she enjoys basking in the sun with a ball in her mouth...loll..
So this is it my precious precious friends. I am glad you motivated to finally write more. Now I feel even better.
Hope you are all enjoying the nice weather and your babies are all well and loving and living each moment to the fullest.
Tight hugs all and all my love..

Awwww Marianne,
I've missed you and the others very much as well, and always great to reconnect even if not as often as I would like to. Thank you for your concern in the midst of your concerns over your precious Peg. I am sorry to hear of all her tummy issues. We know how frustrating that can be specially not really knowing what is causing it. I have to say that the SEB has been a wonder for my girl. At the slightest indication I mix up that miracle formula, mix it in her food and it does its magic. I tried the pepcid on my girls several times in the past, and has never tolerated it and ended up vomitting. She never had any negative side effects with the SEB. But as we all know, our babies are all different in how they react. I hope Peg is on her way to full recovery and that you find the "wonder" cure to her tummy upsets..:(
Now moving on to my girl. I am in awe, and cannot believe she has been off Vetoryl close to 14 months now and living it up with absolutely no symptoms of her cushings..:eek: As much as I have been soaking up all this glory with my girl, I am still completely mind boggled as to what brought on this long trilo break, and always wonder if she in fact had/has cushings? I guess these are the mysteries we will never get answers for, no? So all in all my girl is thriving, off nasty drugs and enjoying everything she has always enjoyed, in moderation, of course, as she has slowed down a bit in her senior years.
Other than this I am doing well myself and now on summer schedule with my human girls.
Thank you so much for your warm thoughts always. Means so much.
Tight hugs to you and lots of nice rubs to the babies.
xo Jeanette and my girl

Dearest Addy, Sharlene and Kathy,
I was thinking the very same thing--a miracle in the making because I sure as heck can't find any other reason. It is just what I was so faithfully hoping for. Just for my girl to have some good health, peace and a break from all the pricking and constant trips to the vet. Even better than winning the lottery. This is my lottery as far as I'm concerned. I think all our babies surely deserve that much, and I pray faithfully in the same way for all your babies and the others here.
I love you ladies so very much. Be well and the same goes for all my fur nephews and nieces. :D

May you know that absence is full
Of tender presence and that
Nothing is ever lost or forgotten.
May the absences in your life be full of eternal echo.
May you sense around you the secret
Elsewhere which holds the presences
That have left your life.
May you be generous in your embrace of loss.
May the sore of your grief turn into a well
Of seamless presence.
May your compassion reach out to the ones
We never hear from and may you have
The courage to speak out for the excluded ones.
May you become the gracious
And passionate subject of your own life.
May you not disrespect your mystery
Through brittle words or false belonging.
May you be embraced by God in whom
Dawn and twilight are one and may
Your longing inhabit its deepest dreams
Within the shelter of the Great Belonging.

My k9 family, I am overwhelmed with emptiness after losing my faithful companion/my stay at home shadow for almost 11 years. I knew this day would be difficult, but this was far worse and more unbearable than I imagined. My routine has changed/diminished right along with my girl, and the sadness and peace is unnatural. Cushings and all, she kept me motivated to keep on going, keep on moving come what may. The emotions are many in my home right now. My girls (16 and 9) are crushed, and I've had to shove mine aside for theirs, as it should be--I run to the bathroom a lot.
My words may not be coming out the way I would want them to because I'm still in the fog, and unfocused, but I know, as my long-time and loyal family, you deserved something, however small or poorly written.
The continued feelings of guilt haunt me since we released my girl. As you know my Princess went into a very longgggg Vetoryl break (over a year), but as we know all good things come to an end, her symptoms started to reappear in late July, early August. As such, I restarted her Vetoryl in mid August. Last Saturday, she did not want to eat her meals, and I stopped Vetoryl immediately, taking into consideration her past history and possible sensitivity to the trilo. On Monday she was still not eating or looking well at all. I took her in that same day for a chemistry profile which revealed very high glucose (525). Unfortunately, to my dismay/surprise my girl had now become diabetic, but by Wednesday my girl looked sicker by the moment, so we were off to her IMS where they confirmed through a urinalysis my girl was suffering from very high levels of ketones in her system or ketoacidosis. The prognosis was not good. My girl and I put up a good fight, but she and I realized at that point it was her time to be at peace.
My heart aches for missing a clue as to what was going on inside my girl. Perhaps what I assumed was returned symptoms of cushings may in fact had been the diabetes taking place, and maybe just maybe a month ago an intervention would have saved her life? I will always second guess myself, and perhaps I shouldn't because I need to believe there was a far higher force guiding the situation which lead to her final moments with us. Perhaps the same force that gave me the gift on an entire year with my girl with no symptoms or meds or vets. Just my girl here being loved and going about her business as she always had prior to cushings. That was my blessing in all this as far as I'm concerned. I got a whole year to enjoy my girl to the fullest, walks, car rides, balls, sticks, frisbees, treats, bones, good meals, celebrations, etc. sky was the limit.
I know each day will get more bearable, and I look to the day where I can celebrate my girl without a single tear in my eyes while I remember all the joy, love and happiness she brought into our lives.
My Princess, you were my sweetest, mellow, laid back and best dog ever. I will never let go of our memories together, (good and bad, cushings and all).
Be free!
Thank you all from the bottom of my broken heart and soul for being my rock these past 4 years. You gave me the gift of helping me keep my girl alive longer than I had imagined with the cushings with your continued support, understanding, love, patience and your special friendships.
I love you and you and all my furbabies will always hold a very warm place in my heart for life.
Tightest hugs ever and always...

Sweet Jeanette,
please don't second guess or blame yourself.
You did all that you could with the clues that Princess gave you. As with humans, so many illnesses mirror others and it makes diagnosing and treating difficult. Add that our furlets can't talk and we have a guessing game.
Given the information that you told us, I too believe that you and your husband made the right decision for Princess' sake and that is true love. It is the last, most loving thing that you could do for her. I've been there more times that I can count and I know how much it hurts. Believe me!
As for your daughters, children are more resilient than we give them credit for and I'll bet that they're trying to be brave for you too. It might help you all to sit down and grieve and share the good memories too. They might have questions that they're afraid to ask and you know that they know what you're really doing in the bathroom.
Time truly does heal all wounds.

Jeannette: I am so sorry Princess is gone. My CoCo passed on Thursday. He had been taken off Vetoryl for 20 days waiting to start Lysodren. Took him in on 9/9/13 for a blood test and he had developed diabetes. He was put on insulin. He was not doing well and seemed to be panting a lot, so took him back to the vet on 9/18/13 and the vet said he had congestive heart failure and he gave me some medicine for him. He continued to pant and was in terrible distress and I held him all day 9/19/13 and begged God to save him or let him go. He died just as my husband walked in the door. I feel so bad that I did not let the vet put him down the day before. I am telling you this because I feel like I let him down for letting him suffer before he died. He was 12 years old and we all know how our heart is broken, but I feel worse because I did not release him from his pain. You have nothing to regret for releasing Princess. It was your last loving care of your precious furbaby. Love, JoAnne

Dear Jeannette,
Our human minds simply cannot fathom this depth of pain until we are faced with it - then when it comes, we are transformed in seconds, never to be the same. In essence, you have lost your middle daughter; your daughters, their sister. There is no way to prepare for such a loss, none whatsoever. Our world is as it should be one second, the next we are set adrift in a strange world full of darkness, alone even if surrounded by people, where familiar things are suddenly unknown and we don't have the language to speak of our loss. Yet voices scream in our heads and hearts hour after hour, yearning for release.
In time, we begin to realize this isn't a process of release but a process of embracing. Embracing the memories that bring both joy and sorrow, embracing this strange new world, embracing the challenge of learning how to live in this new world, and embracing the pain as a natural extension of a love deeper than language can express. For we are among the few, the rare, who can know such a love; we are the Blessed.
In my own life, I haven't found that time heals. Some wounds never heal; they are simply too deep. Rather is has been as a great lady, Rose Kennedy, once said -
“It has been said, 'time heals all wounds.' I do not agree. The wounds remain. In time, the mind, protecting its sanity, covers them with scar tissue and the pain lessens. But it is never gone.”
In my life, there are times when those old wounds become open and raw again, the pain fresh again as if brand new; when I am transported back to that moment I heard those terrible words for the first time and the screaming starts again. Over the years, those times come less frequently and I am able to return to my new "normalcy" more quickly - but the depth of the pain is no less. But within that scar tissue is held much joy, laughter and many good memories, that sooth the wound, protecting it, drawing the jagged edges closed once again for a time.
Growing this scar tissue is a process that for some is short, for others very long indeed. Tend your wound and those of your family; grieve as you need for as long as you need and time will allow your mind and heart to heal as your scar tissue, your protective layer, grows, fed by the love you and Princess share. Those soft brown eyes still shine with that love as they look down on her family in gratitude. She will never be far from your side, sweetie, and one day you will hold her again.
Hugs,
Leslie and the gang

Oh Joanne,
I am so very sorry for Coco's loss. This is just so awful. That one final decision is by far the hardest one has to make because we are so torn, we hold on to a bit of hope for a recovery or a higher intervention. Please don't judge yourself. My heart aches for your loss as much as my own.
May your precious Coco rest in peace and romping around together with my girl.
Tight hugs...and God Bless Coco.

Thanks so much Jeanette. At least they are not suffering now. Our grief will lessen in time and I know that since this is the third dachshund I have lost, but of course you always feel like the grief will never end when it is so fresh. I hope it ends soon for all that have lost their furbabies recently. Love, JoAnne

Dear Jeannette
I am so sorry to hear about losing your beautiful Princess. Know you did the best you could. I went through the same with Apollo, how can we know what is going to pop up. I keep felling I missed things that were going on. I went through the same with the Trilostane. But I did not want him to go through more tests, and more medications that would have caused more complications. The doctor visits, the meds, constantly holding, caring, loving them and feeling so helpless as to what will get them in the end. Know you and Princess fought together with love and courage.

Jeannette,
I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm new here but I know exactly how you feel. I had to put my Cooper to sleep on September 3rd and I never stop thinking about him. I wonder as you do what I could have done differently to prolong his life. It's such a difficult time but I know eventually it will pass. Again, I'm so sorry but it sounds like your girl had a great time while she was here so cling to those special memories.

But we have to know that we've done the best we could for them and they know how much love we have for them always and forever. I agree with Leslie completely. Dear Jeanette,
Stopping here to give you many hugs and to let you know I am thinking of you and your family.
Guilt is not something your girl would want you to have. Sometimes things just happen, we cant blame ourselves. We make the best decisions we can out of pure love and devotion. Sometimes no matter how hard we try, things just happen.
Gosh, Jeanette, grief is hard enough without adding guilt to the mix.
Please try to let those thoughts go, sweetie. You did right by Princess, always did. Never doubt that for a moment and there are pages upon pages here that show that caring, loving journey.
I'm so sorry Jeanette. So very sorry.

Dear family,
I can hardly believe it will be 2 weeks tomorrow since we released our sweet girl. I continue to walk in the fog, unfocused, empty and as my one dear friend put it "with half a body". I do not feel whole without my girl. It hurts sooo much. I continue to walk into my youngest daughter's room to smell the carpet she laid on which still lingers of her beautiful fragrance. God, I miss that scent, and may never wash that rug again. Tomorrow will be a bitter/sweet day for all of us here at our home. My oldest daughter's 17th birthday. I simply cannot think of a celebration nor can my daughter, but she seems so very down about it that as her mother, I must do something to lift her spirits in honor of her sister up above. We are just so bummed that she will be missing from the happy birthday singing, as she has always been, the piece of cake she always shared with her sister and the beautiful pictures taken as a family.
I miss you dear Princess. Tomorrow will by far be difficult. Please shine on us, specially your sister on her special day, and let us know you are smiling down on us, and please, please don't be upset with your family for carrying on with life on this day. We will be thinking and missing and honoring you more than ever.
I love you sweet girl. Be happy! I know you deserved to be.
Tight ones to my beautiful family.

She wouldn't want you stopping celebrating life, I know her absence and the pain of letting her go are very overwhelming right now and at times impossible to bear, but your love for Princess and her devotion for you and your family will give you the strength to keep on going; connect your heart to her heart, that invisible cord will be forever linked to you and like the sweet angel she always was on your side, she will always be on spirit.
I'll keep you in my thoughts tomorrow specially.

Jeanette, it is so hard isn't it. :( I know Princess will Always be there with you in spirit and watching over you and the girls. It's just the nature of an animals love that it never leaves us just as what we feel for them is still there, many, many years later.
You are all brave but wise to go forward with the celebration. A 17 year olds birthday is important and maybe there is a special way that you can bring princess into it still. A picture, do they do balloons with pictures on them? That would be kind of fun maybe. I don't know but I am sure that you will find that special way make it wonderful, even as your hearts are still grieving.

Dear family,
In the midst of all my grief over losing my girl just 3 weeks ago, I come here to honor my girl's life and all the cushpups who are still on their journey, some old and a lot of new ones, and I find myself in complete disbelief how many of our babies are stricken with this drafted disease. I ask myself WHAT IN GODS NAME is causing our babies to get cushings. I know we keep exhausting our research in the cure for cancer and here we are with more and more cases. At the same tome I want to know if there is any veterinary research searching for a cure for cushings? Why are so many furbabies being dx with this awful thing? Sorry having a terrible moment here.
love to all. Xo

Hi Jeanette, HUGS! Of course you're going to have some bad moments, bad days, it's perfectly natural.
I don't know if more of our beloved dogs are getting cushings now or if it is more that it is Diagnosed more now, as they know more about it.
Certainly there is still research going on. Dr. Bruyette in LA continues to do research into different medications to reduce macro tumors. And the Vet College in Vienna is working on the hair testing for cortisol levels that would make it easier than ACTH testing for levels. I hope there are others that I don't know about that continue to do research in the hopes that one day we can get better at treating cushings, or curing it perhaps. I like to go big with optimism whenever possible. U of Tenn I hope continues the work of Dr. Oliver. AKC Canine Health Foundation funds research and has been a part of research into the causes of canine cushings. Morris Animal Foundation also funds research into canine health issues and one of the people on their board of advisors is from Auburn University whose specialty is canine and feline endocrinology, especially canine adrenal function and hyperadrenocorticism (Cushing’s disease.)
So I think that there is hope, but it is a slow process and never enough research money to go around for all the causes that need help so badly.
I hope that this information gives you some hope that some day, progress will be made. I think that previously they didn't know as much, so many dogs went undiagnosed completely.
Hang in there Jeanette!
love

Sorry you are so distressed over your Prinicess. I feel the same, still distraught, just trying to go on, one foot and then the other and a smile on my face and my heart is breaking and wondering when this pain will end. We all realize our furbabies do not live as long as humans and my CoCo was so sick, but we never want to give them up. I know that time will heal and it has only been 3 weeks this past Thursday, but still feels like the pain will never end. I am thinking about all the new people on this forum with sick babies and thinking when does this end. My vets donated to the fund at UT in CoCo's name and I just read the letter, and it did not mention Cushings, just that they study the diseases of our companion animals. Maybe some furbabies will have some help in the future. I hope your heart heals quickly, but I know you will never forget your Princess. I am thankful that CoCo is not struggling to breath now and is not sick any more, but has really left a hole in my heart. Thinking of you and your family. Love, JoAnne

My Princess, my puppy, my precious, sweet and gentle girl,
A very Happy :):)Birthday to you . It has taken me exactly 2 months to find the strength and words to honor your life, and what better day, than today, on your 11th birthday. This is not the way I envisioned celebrating your life, because it has always been celebrated with you here, but it’s all I’ve got. Today I light a candle to remember all of our treasured and loving moments together as a family. You were family, our family, and it breaks our hearts not seeing you in front of your birthday treat the way you always so patiently sat for while striking a pose for the camera with your sisters. We will miss watching you tearing through your gifts bright and early. Those were one of the many priceless moments with you.
My sweet, sweet girl, there has never been one negative thing to say about you because God above surely created you in his image and perfect in every single way. These last few months have been far from easy without your beautiful presence and fragrance. I feel half broken, you are the missing link to our family—you took a piece of all our hearts with you, as I knew you would.
Happiest birthday my girl and lots of cha cha chas from your big sister and little sister who speak, cry and long for you every single day, as I do. Daddy holds it all in, but oh how he loved you.
Big sis was missing you so badly she unexpectedly came home with a stray kitten found on the side of the road. He is 6 weeks old and he is ours now, Chico is ours. It was hardest for me to welcome him or another furbaby into our lives and “your” home, (this will always be your home), but he has brought some joy back into our lives, specially your sisters—maybe you had a hand in all of it? Bless you!
Today we will send balloons up to you in heaven , and when they reach you, I will imagine your noble and beautiful face with that great BIG smile you always gave us, and I will finally be at peace knowing you are truly free.
I love you my Princess, my puppy, my old dog…my forever girl. Be happy!
Tight, tight hugs, kisses, ear rubs and my favorite pose of all--belly ups!
Xoxoxoxoxo Mom, dad, your sisters, grandma and now Chico…meow!:):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):)

Hi family and so happy to read all the happy birthday wishes in honor of my beautiful Princess. I do believe the balloons reached her. I received a letter on her birthday from Cornell University acknowledging a donation made in honor of Princess from her IMS who treated her in her final moments here with us. (This was not her regular IMS, but an alternate one who was filling in for my regular IMS while she was away). A total blessing in disguise if you ask me. I am flabbergasted to hAve received this acknowledment on behalf of my girl and have it put to the further research of veterinary medicine at Cornell.
Well my friends i am off to continue my holiday cooking, but I leave you with some very happy wishes for a wonderful and blessed and healthy thanksgiving to you and all your beautiful babies.
I love you all incredibly much and you are all a big part of my many blessings.

My precious, sweet girl. A year ago around this time we were both driving to the vet thinking all along your cushings was back again. All i can think of was they will do the acth and the Vetoryl will perk you right back. Little did I ever imagined that would be your last ride in the car and that I would be driving home without in the back seat. This year has been more trying than I could have imagined. Just when life seemed to be walking out on me, and when I needed you the most, life walked out on you. I still havent found the "why", but as Leslie wrote, I have felt you all along and during my darkest hours. You have been walking with me every step of the way throughout my long journey. Today as I stare into your big yard outside, I can remember all the beautiful moments spent chasing after your balls, your sisters and I running after you and you running after us. I miss playing hide and go seek soo much. You ALWAYS found us! I still remember your fragrance as if it is imbedded inside my nose. Your eyes, oh those eyes which melted my heart, which spoke many words. I love you heart and soul beautiful girl. Your peace is my ultimate gift. My dearest family,
I can't believe it has been over 6 months since I have visited/posted. Geez! I hope everyone still remembers me, the one with the "tight ones", and I aint talking pants. Lol. Although it would take me quite a while for me to catch up on all my nieces and nephews and aunties and a couple of uncles, I still want every single one of you to know you remain close to my heart always. Time is certainly of the essence during and post cancer but I am trying to live each day to the fullest whenever possible. I am finally in a much better place today than I was a year ago. Feeling stronger and trying to stay positive and faithful for continued health. God is GREAT!
I love you all soooooo!
Tightest ones ever.
Xo Jeanette.

Two years ago today I lost a very special and big part of what made my life whole--my sweet and precious Princess. Today I have been going through the motions of this sad day two years ago. As much as I do believe you are in a greater place, my heart constantly aches and yearns for you and all that you meant to me and your daddy and sisters and aunties and uncles and cousins here on our k9 family. My sweet girl, Two days ago I walked into your little sister's room, and I sensed your presence very much there with me. Thats where you ALWAYS loved to lay, and for 3 seconds Your beautiful fragrance came and went. Happy tears rolled down my face because I believed in my heart of all hearts, it was you letting me know, you have not left me, and are always very near. I LOVE YOU SWEET PRINCESS. Today and for every passing year. You will NEVER be forgotten. I Praise God for sharing your life with us. Stay free!
Tightest hugs.
Mommy, daddy and your sisters and grandma.

My dearest friend,
I can't believe two years have gone by since my precious niece became an angel. I know she is always with you, and she always will be. We hold them in our hearts forever. May you always have good memories of Princess.
You know I'm always here for you, probably not on the forum, but you know what I mean.
I know her cousin is taking good care of her.
I love you very dearly. ((((((((((HUGS))))))))))

Dear Jeanette,
I was referred to your sweet Princess' story by the lovely people here. I haven't read the whole story, but I am so sad to see that you lost Princess 2 years ago. I'm very interested in reading her entire story, but for now, I have to go to work.
My 8 and 1/2 year old beagle mix is going through a possible cushings diagnosis with possible Trilostane sensitivity. And I live in Bloomfield, NJ, which I saw that one of your vets was from Paramus.
I am so very sorry for your loss and I hope time has helped ease your pain, at least a little bit. Thank you for sharing her story and I look forward to reading more about your Princess.

13 years ago today, a very special little angel was sent to earth by our loving God. And At the time of her birth in Tennesse, who would have ever imagined she was going to travel so many many miles and end up with our family in New Jersey. It was our FATE. This puppy was meant for us to BLESS our lives and hearts with such sweet, tender and noble soul. She Filled our hearts with beautiful memories to last us a lifetime. Our sweet and precious Princess, today we honor you with many tears and smiles, for we will NEVER erase your memory from our hearts for truly being THE BEST DOG EVER. Life after cancer is certainly hectic with all of the appointments, but I am happy to report I recently had my 3 month screening, and all was in the clear, PRAISE GOD!!!
Our home is missing the deep love of a doggie furry friend--but my heart just doesnt seem ready yet for another. :-(.
I just wanted to say a warm hello to all my family today, and let you know I still think of you with lots of love and smiles.
Tight hugs to everyone and gentle belly rubs to all of my sweet furbabies.
Love you

OMG, be still my heart, it's Jeanette! I am thrilled to see you here and am flying high after reading your good news. Yes, praise God and you for fighting the fight. I'm so proud of you.
I know you miss your precious Princess and I so understand how difficult it is to open up your heart to a new baby. However, I think I know you well enough to know that there will be a new baby in your future. I hope you will come back to share that good news with us when that day comes.
You will never know how much I appreciate your being my rock when I needed you. I'm blessed to have a lot of rocks in my k9cushings family, many of whom are still here to see me through the rough patches. We'll always be here for you, Jeanette, so don't be a stranger.

Today I celebrate the beautiful life we ALL shared with my precious Princess. I will always feel so very blessed to have shared her life with every one of you, and her life is more meaningful because of that.
Three years ago, was one of the worst days of my life, maybe even worst than my cancer dx, because I am still here, but my girl is not. It still hurts.
I love you sweet Princess as much as I did when you were still here with us. I pray you are at peace and just full of JOY!
Belly rubs from mommy, daddy, your sisters and grandma.
To my K9 family--I LOVE YOU AND YOUR BABIES DEARLY.

May you know that absence is full
Of tender presence and that
Nothing is ever lost or forgotten.
May the absences in your life be full of eternal echo.
May you sense around you the secret
Elsewhere which holds the presences
That have left your life.
May you be generous in your embrace of loss.
May the sore of your grief turn into a well
Of seamless presence.
May your compassion reach out to the ones
We never hear from and may you have
The courage to speak out for the excluded ones.
May you become the gracious
And passionate subject of your own life.
May you not disrespect your mystery
Through brittle words or false belonging.
May you be embraced by God in whom
Dawn and twilight are one and may
Your longing inhabit its deepest dreams
Within the shelter of the Great Belonging.
From John O’Donohue’s Eternal Echoes-Exploring our Hunger to Belong
You, dear lady, have "become the gracious and passionate subject of your own life" and in so doing have led others, like me, into our own lives and lights. I have no doubt that our precious Princess is looking down on her mom with immense pride and love.
Hugs,
Leslie

Oh Jeanette, it is always so good to see you here, even though I know your return yesterday was for a reason that is so bittersweet. These anniversaries never seem to lose their power over us, but for reasons that are both good and sad. It always feels a bit like a family reunion when I see you posting, and that is a very good thing!! :)
I hope so much that you and your family are doing well right now. And I can promise you that we will never forget our Princess here. Whenever I see your avatar photo of her, my heart melts all over again. What a precious puppy she will always remain to us all.
Sending much love and many best wishes your way,
Marianne

Your sweet Princess is always with you, watching over you and the rest of her family with such love and pride. I have no doubt she misses you as much as you miss her but our babies have one advantage over us - their time of worry is over; they know the day is coming when we will all be together again. They, unlike us mere humans, never question that future. So they stay by our sides and do their best to let us know they are there, whole and strong again.
Many hugs and much love sweet lady!
